LOL! Yeah. I have to clean out the closet that I am going to store the stuff in. I don't want to store it in the basement this year. Some things got wet last year when the drains backed up. :(

Aside from the incident here, it was another good week for me. The owners of the shop are really pleased with my work, and seem to be going out of their way to insure I am happy there. (that is a nice break for a change. )If only it lasts. (with God's blessings, hopefully I won't need it too long).I spoke to one of the guys at the shop where I worked at, the one who cheated me. It seems that the owner has rehired the guy who was there before me, the same one who does drugs, and rigs up things, "to get them out of the shop", instead of fixing them right. He also stole from the shop, and the owner swore he would never have him back. I guess he grew tired of me getting upset with his watching XXX-rated porno in the place, and such.It won't be long before he begs me back, and THEN I will tell him to stick it!!

The contest is closed now, today was the final day to enter. I of course sent mine in about a month ago.

I can imagine how precious that is to you. My brother recently found a video that he took years ago stuck in my mother's old VCR. It had films of my late father, my late aunt, and my late husband on it. We had never seen it before. You can't imagine what it meant to all of us to see it. We just lost my aunt this summer. She was my mother's only sister/sibling and very dear to us all. It was also so comforting to see Phillip and Daddy there just as they had been on that long ago Christmas. My Daddy died Dec. 18, 1999.

The things he said in his last freepmail were not very kind. He started off sounding as if he were being complimentary, but he ended up by insulting me. He blamed me for the thread going on so long and for creating the "paradigm of him upsetting other people." All I was trying to do was to straighten things out between everyone. He also implied that I was trying to find a man on Free Republic. Of all things! That is the last thing on my mind. The only way I would even consider a man is if God opened the heavens and said, "Goodgirl, this is the man I have chosen for you." And then Harm would also have to approve. That is the last time I will try to save someone's you know what!

I think it is one of the funniest threads I've ever seen on FR. I said something I didn't think was bad then he called me a liberal feminist, etc. I am nowhere near liberal nor a feminist. I agree with Dr. Laura and her book "care and feeding of husbands". I think way too many women run their husbands down when they should respect them and care for them in the more old fashioned way. He does appear intelligent but I had to laugh every time he wrote something because I found myself reading it with an English accent, like the guy on MASH, Charles Winchester the III? Not sure of the name.

I noticed all the guys disappeared, I suspect they were all sitting back and laughing while the ladies got on to him. I normally don't go back and check on threads a day or two later but I did for amusement value on that one. That's when I saw you had written him. Like I said before, he seemed quite impressed with you! I'm sure you know not to take anything he said seriously, he obviously has "issues" with women. It appeared to me you completely turned him around, his earlier posts were very different. It did upset me he kept bringing the troops in on his conversations, maybe because no men were backing him up he felt he had to bring the troops in. Someone for his side.

It's an interesting lesson in male/female relationships. The first interesting guy on there married a Ukranian, jokingly tells her he will sell her if she cheats on him, tells his friends he will buy her cable and keep her locked in the house and says she has no desire for a social life outside attending to him (she probably doesn't speak English yet so how he would know that I'm not sure). Lots of guys write congratulating him on finding the perfect wife.

The guys I've known in my lifetime say they are looking for a best friend and lover. Perhaps not, perhaps men really want a submissive woman to do their bidding, cooking and cleaning. Most women I know would love to stay home and care for the house especially when they have children but work because they feel they have to.

Journey!!! yeah would have loved to have seen it. I miss Foreigner, Journey, Asia, Genesis, Hall& Oats. Geez how did I get old enough for my music to be in the bargin bin!!!

I kind of lost interest in pop music when the Michael Jackson,Madonna era started.The stage act was more important than the song.
They could pull it off because they can actually carry a tune but too many wannabees that can`t sing any better than I can filled the airwaves because their videos were popular on MTV.

I agree with you about women. One of our male friends on the thread has suggested I read that book by Dr. Laura.

I also agree with you about that fellow in some respects. I don't think I turned him around. It may have appeared so. The last FReepmail that he sent me was very hateful and upsetting, at least to me. He insulted all of us. Oh, and he accused me of keeping that thread going longer than it should have. I told him that I did not think that I did that single handedly. No one had to respond to what I said, for pete's sakes.

Yes, you are right about Charles Winchester, III. However, I think Charles was a kinder person than this one turned out to be.

Yep, I showed my daughter a record album, she said it "looks like a great big CD". My how times have changed.
