Hopefully, this ring does not have to be returned to Mordor...

LOL. So Millee, how many $7000 rings did you go through in 2005?

I've had TSA screeners steal out of my checked baggage.

Check the video, did he really put a ring in the container?

What? No video of the checkpoint? Oops!

    1) My $200 wedding band doesn't leave my sight at the airport. Put it in the bucket with any lose change and hand it around the outside of the metal detector.

2) A health teacher wears a $7000 ring? I'm in the wrong profession.

If he wins his suit, I suspect there will be more $7,000 lost ring claims.

BTW - I never take my jewelry off to go through the scanners, do you?

He also had a Rolex...
To: Tijeras_Slim
I've had TSA screeners steal out of my checked baggage.

Years ago, I was on a plane that was boarding in my small city airport. I was horrified to look out the window and recognize a guy unloading bags on another plane as thieving hoodlum who had gone to my high school. He had once been arrested for stealing car stereos on campus.
To: Millee
...he placed the 1.53-carat diamond and gold ring in a plastic tub along with his Rolex watch and wallet. Wright, a health teacher in Somerset. Ring Stolen, Oh REALLY?!?

(a "Health" teacher with a Rolex, suuuuuuure)

BTW - I never take my jewelry off to go through the scanners, do you? Nope. Keys and change, that's it. If the alarm goes off after that, I will remove my watch. Otherwise, I always keep jewelry on my person.

I walk through the detectors with watch, wallet, rings, and whatever else in my pockets and never seem to set it off.
Although one time, I kept setting it off even after removing everything. It turned out to be the steel-toed shoes that I had on.

Gold rings and jewelry do not trigger the detector (non-magnetic). No reason to remove them unless they are fake.

Yep, every airport seems to have a different sensitivity setting. Guess that's to keep us on our toes.

Gold rings and jewelry do not trigger the detector (non-magnetic). That's what I thought...I never take my six gold and diamond rings off when I go through security and they don't set it off. My belt buckle (silver with a brass eagle on it) does. I'd say this guy is full of BS.
