Here's a picture of a spider that I found under my baker's rack awhile ago--I can't identify it though...was hoping some of the wonderful folks here might be able to help.
If it's a garden spider, we'll do a release into the back yard garden, but I have a 5 y/o and I don't want to take a chance that it's a dangerous spider.
Anyone got an idea what this might be?

We were able to kill it and mount it. You and your one track mind. It's all about sex with you.

Please tell me you are joking!! =:-O
We are north of Dallas, south of Oklahoma.
I thought fiddlebacks only like dark damp places?
This part of the kitchen is near a large window and
pretty bright. The baker's rack has a grid-like shelf,
not solid, so it's pretty much open space under there.
The spider itself is about 1.5-2 inches long. I blew up the pic to see it better, so it's not quite chihuahua size like it looks, LOL.

Possibly a
wolf spider?
All these pics of spiders is making me feel the creepy crawlies now....ughghgh. I generaly don't mind them, but seeing many makes me start "feeling" things crawling on me...

Doesn't look like a brown recluse. Does it have 6 eyes in 2 clusters of three? If not, it isn't a brown recluse.

Bwahahahahaha!! Said as if I would get close enough to count such things. This pic is from a camera with a really REALLY good zoom lens!! :-)

You needn't fear because as Woody Allen told a distraught and frightened Diane Keaton in Annie Hall
"I've been killing spiders since I was 30".

No, its about sex with CZJ.

That was my first thought, since we had a wolf spider in our house in California a couple of years ago, but this one seemed to be making a nest/web out of dust bunnies under there, so I wasn't sure. I thought they only did their hunting outside.
Oh, and the weather has been super mild here, so the cold didn't drive it in, I don't think.

Garden release? That sounds so "PETA". I would just stomp on it.
Of course, I'd be screaming like a little girl at the same time (Man, I hate spiders).

Yeah, this joker's been running around loose in my 'hood lately. Try as I might to find the owner, no one has claimed it yet. Guess it's time to call the dog catcher and see if this is something they can handle:

Don't mind me. I've been corrected and I'm obviously wrong, although one person said your spider looks fuzzy, which it doesn't to me. I couldn't really get a good look at its shape to rule out whether or not it has the hour glass shape, but it probably isn't a brown recluse. I'd still call the exterminator if I were you.
BTW, was the pic of you spider taken after you killed him with some insecticide? The reason I ask is that its legs were drawn up.
