~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Poetry Thread XXIV~
January 2, 2006 | bentfeather/Poets of the Lair

Posted on 01/02/2006 7:52:08 AM PST by Soaring Feather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I heard about that storm down your way. I don't expect we'll get any of it here, too, far from the coast.

Thanks for the kind words regarding The Lair. Enjoy, it's my love.

The Black Dance

A crucible of black
surrendering in unabashed pleasure
letting go totally
to the essence of you
submitting to your arms
of desire in a black dance.

I don't want to fall in love
I don't want to fall in love
with you
with you
pulled into an eddy of black warm
submitting to your black eyes
to the sensuality of you
as a moth to a flame
the fire raging, the desire climbing
to a fevered pitch beyond sanity
loving you, beyond the limits of time
time... the great divider,
space the connect
the wait the agony,
the bliss nearing,
the freedom of the haunting
in that place, our place
warm in the mist of the hoar
safe to dance our black dance.

No, I don't want to fall in love with you
With you.

The Other Side of the Glass

Building windows give light to acres of cubicles vast,
illuminating the current form of slavery known.
Yet, walk outside, and you see something unseen before,
those same windows reflect a world of joy passed by.

Reflected there is a world I ache to have last,
free of regimented doldrums in a faceless grey zone.
What we have lost is not found behind office doors,
but under a brilliant cerulean cloud littered sky.

Not the sound of the fax grinding out more paper,
but the sound of the wind, whispering across a lake.
Not the feel of institutional fabric, but long green grass,
and the warm sun enfolding one in an gentle embrace.

Life is passing you by, as you wait for the workload to taper,
yet you know its not going to, and you’re losing fer G’d sake!
Stop dreaming of someday, and just grab your loving lass,
take a moment, and step into life, away from the rat race.

Happy Thursday to you Kathy. Thanks for the hymn.

It's snowing here, lots of white stuff on the ground. I have to go out this afternoon for an appointment. Ugh. It's gonna snow all day long.
