My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good Morning Everyone!
New Thread Ping!
To: bentfeather
This is the first time I have seen this thread series somehow.
I am not a big poetry person but that is very nice,reminds me of a moonlit June night.

How blue -
the flu.
Achoo!

P.S. I see you fly the New York State Flag. I do, too.

Oh dear Poet, so sorry to hear. Seems many are suffering from the flu. So far, I have escaped the dilemma. Stay warm.

New Year's Morning
ONLY a night from old to new!
Only a night, and so much wrought!
The Old Year's heart all weary grew,
But said: The New Year rest has brought."
The Old Year's hopes its heart laid down,
As in a grave; but trusting, said:
"The blossoms of the New Year's crown
Bloom from the ashes of the dead."
The Old Year's heart was full of greed;
With selfishness it longed and ached,
And cried: "I have not half I need.
My thirst is bitter and unslaked.
But to the New Year's generous hand
All gifts in plenty shall return;
True love it shall understand;
By all failures it shall learn.
I have been reckless; it shall be
Quiet and calm and pure of life.
I was a slave; it shall go free,
And find sweet peace where I leave strife."
Only a night from old to new!
Never a night such changes brought.
The Old Year had its work to do;
No New Year miracles are wrought.
Always a night from old to new!
Night and the healing balm of sleep!
Each morn is New Year's morn come true,
Morn of a festival to keep.
All nights are sacred nights to make
Confession and resolve and prayer;
All days are sacred days to wake
New gladness in the sunny air.
Only a night from old to new;
Only a sleep from night to morn.
The new is but the old come true;
Each sunrise sees a new year born.

Good morning everyone.

Fever broke late last night,
but it's climbing up again.
Who put the broken glass in my lungs
to cough up once again?
Who slipped the ice cubes under my robe,
and the sandpaper in my eyes?
And who put syrup of Ipecac
in my coffee for a big surprise?
Best I can do this morning....My fingers are starting to shiver, so I think I'll go crawl under the covers...

Subject: FW: blond outsmarts contractor
Dear Diary,
Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with those expensive double pane energy efficient kind. But this week I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole year ago and I hadn't paid for them. Hellloooo?
Now just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told ME last year...namely, that in just ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves! Helllooooo? It's been a year! (I told him)
There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up.... He didn't call back. Guess I won that stupid argument.

Absolutely beautiful poem, table, and music. My favorite Eva Cassidy songs are "Wade In The Water" and "Honeysuckle Rose". Thank you so much Queenie! Very uplifting!
