Best of luck to you! I work in the construction industry, albeit as an engineer, and I spent way too many Christmas's out of work. I know how it sucks.

My girlies told ne we had to have cabbage for prospertiy, ham for strength and rice for health for a new years meal. Sounds like a perfect time to start a new tradition to me.

I own a chainsaw, does that help?

For fingernails? Umm, my fingernails are not the fanciest but a chainsaw? Thank you for the help, even with the nail polish, I don't think it's going to take a chain saw!

Hey, my bro cuts wood for our dad's heating, are you good at that? Where do you live?

Ha! This is hilarious as I am Italian!

Your Inner European is Italian!
Passionate and colorful. You show the world what culture really is.
Who's Your Inner European?

Thanks for the good wishes! I gave up a lot of things to move out here to Colorado this spring. It's been an interesting year! A lot of things have gone VERY right (I sold my house in two days, as an example - was NOT expecting that!), but the permanent job thing just hasn't fallen into place yet. I had a temp one, but the budget got cut early in December and out we went.

I *think* my latest interview went really well, but it's always hard to tell! They're making a decision next week - I'd really appreciate prayers from anyone that can spare a few. ;-)

Really nice

Ya know I basically got forced out of my home that I planned on being in until I retired

It was an older home with tons of character but the neighborhood was going to rentals and in fact the house next door to me sold twice as a rental with the tenants from hell

It got to the point where I didn't feel safe in my own home
So I moved and even though my new home is very nice I know the feeling of being forced to move when your heart isn't in it

That is beautiful! Spoken from someone who appreciates landscaping I have to say that is nicely done. I would not have been ashamed.

It's been a long while since I saw one in person. The ones I dealt with in the past...yeah, they were very nice. I've always kinda thought about getting a Thinkpad every time I've purchased a computer, but backed down due to price in the end.

If I had the cash...I think I'd go for it. Like I said, sometimes they're a step behind from a technology standpoint - just as one example, they don't have Dual Layer DVD burners in any systems yet, so far as I know, while most other companies do - but they are rugged, the service plans are good, and you still see ANCIENT ones out in the field. That says something, in my opinion.

Since I just want something that will *work* and don't do gaming or anything else that requires a fancy video card or such like, they really appeal to me. They have the best keyboards in the business, too. Little details like that mean a lot to me!

LOL,said I was Irish, ancestors were really from Scotland so not far off I guess.
Bookmarked to take the rest later.
I did try one other and it said I was 70% weird which is probably pretty close on that one too.

Think it is time to punch out for the evening.

I got Irish, too!

Your Inner European is Irish!
Sprited and boisterous! You drink everyone under the table.
Who's Your Inner European?

I'm mostly Scots-Norwegian...but I guess they all have some similar roots!

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

Thanks, i also pushed in 200 truckloads of dirt to make a back yard big enough for volleyball. Benefits of working for a construction company, free loaner dozers, etc.

Northeast Kingdom...ahh, nice to see that term! Been a little homesick this past week...*snif*

It's lovely here, but I do hope I can make it home for Christmas next year.

I'm mostly Scots-Norwegian

3/8 Norwegian, 2/8 Scottish here. My grammy was "off the boat" via halifax. For my first years, i had a heavy scottish accent I spent so much time with her. Lefse with lingonberry was consumed this week, as ws much herring.
