I honestly hope it wasn't pulled for that reason (we don't know for sure, as CC has declined to comment), as the best thing about South Park is that they don't listen to people that are offended. Pulling this would set a precedent for them.
Also, the people getting their panties in a knot miss the whole point of the episode. It's not making fun of Catholics, it's making fun of people who worship "miraculous" idols. There have been plenty of stories recently about people worshipping images of Mary, in grilled cheese, or weeping statues, and people flock to them.
Finally, let's get this out of the way: South Park has made fun of Muslims, also, so you can put that old canard away instead of repeating the lie on every thread. Dirka Dirka Dirka.
Change the channel if you don't like what you see, and vote with your eyes.

The Comedy Channel decides whether to replay it or not, and they decided not to. They decide what to show on their channel, and no one else does. They voted, and not many other votes on the subject really count do they. That's that.

If people could simply learn to laugh at themselves, the world would be a much better place. Unfortunately, too many liberals AND conservatives have yet to learn this.

South park insults everybody. If they have their way, I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with an episode making fun of the people who complain about it.

I think the whole South Park movie was pretty much about that :)

Excellent news. I'm sure all the Conservative in Name Only South Park defenders on this site will be outraged. I also look for this thread to be taken off the News-Activism forum like all the other South Park threads recently.

We have become a nation of victims, complainers and whiners. Everyone has some injustice visited on them. Speaking personally, I feel victimized by the whiners and seek to form a boycott, if not actual protests.

"A repeat of the finale was scheduled to air Wednesday night, but was seemingly pulled from the Comedy Central lineup without explanation."
Simple explanation, don't air the episode, sit on it for a while and then hype it as being the "banned episode", air it again and...
$$$$$

I do too.
I've heard they have a label for it and I'd like to think I fall under the category of "south park republican".
Main qualities include.
Strong sense of sarcastic sense of humor. Can laugh at yourself. Despise Political Correctness and liberalism. Knows hollywood is full of liberal phonies and spoiled babies.

It's offensive...hideous. Yes, we have constitutional freedom of expression, but we also have a moral responsibility to avoid ridiculing religions in such a way as to defame them. If one believes in a need criticize a religion, one should do so only analytically, with honesty, good evidence and no intent to harm anyone.
Raunchy 'South Park' Virgin Mary Episode Angers Catholics
Associated Press by way of NBC11 9DEC05
"
The cartoon, which runs on Comedy Central, features an episode this week titled "Bloody Mary," in which a South Park character claims to have been sprayed with blood from a body orifice of a Virgin Mary statue. When Pope Benedict investigates, he declares that she's just having her period."
That's grotesque stinking thinking and not for television, IMO.
