Oh brother......I can just imagine..:)
Our nephew who is ex-Navy was here for Christmas and was encouraging her to think about service. Grandpa Joe was AF as were 2 of her uncles. One cousin is active duty Navy, and of course there's her little brother. Lots of Army vets on my side of the family. Maybe it's in her blood. Who knows.
All this talk about station wagons brings memories of my youngest sister back. She hates station wagons, especially those with wood siding (remember those?) If one of her friends' mothers picked her up in one, she and her friend would duck down so they wouldn't be seen in those ugly cars.
We were going to try and get her a station wagon with wood siding for her 16th birthday, but it ended up costing too much. It would have been a great joke...
Would it be I'd post the URL here, but cannot. Saw a vid of 100,000 old Russian artillery rounds and such, took up 15 rooms of a building, stacked to the ceiling. [These are the things IED's are made of!] It was said it was 350,000 pounds of explosives, but I'd bet it was a decimal point off, made quite the mushroom cloud when it was vaporized! Looked to me like it would have covered a football field with 4x4 pallets! [Oh, jeez i've said this before...]
Glad to hear Spooky/Six is OK. But asthma in a cat? lots of fun getting the treatment down her. I just look at the cat carrier and my black female kitty goes beserk and hides. The male isn't so smart, he freezes and lets me nab him. Then it is into the carrier where he tries to make himself as small as possible. The female gets hand carried to the car where she promptly tries to disappear under the gas pedal. Yikes.
She takes payments over the phone, trouble-shoots, tells people how to unfreeze their screens, explains why they had to pay roaming charges, etc. etc. etc.
She had 4 weeks of classroom training and started on the phone this week; still technically in training this week & next, then she's on her own. Full time with benefits since day 1 of training. Decent pay and nice people.
Nice to have all 3 gainfully employed at last. Well, it'll be nicer when #3 is back home.
But at this point they are all well & healthy & happy & strong & you can't ask for more than that.
Had you gotten her something with a big motor, her opinion might have changed... And that one I had featured that faux woodgrain on the sides! [Contact paper?] ;)
Good for your daughter. :) My oldest nephew is in the same business, he is a customer support representative for a computer company that combats spam.
True. My favorite memory of growing up was when we took a family vacation to California for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary. The family car was a VW van. With brown shag carpet and a Mercedes Benz engine that had been souped up. We were driving on the outskirts of Las Vegas and my dad was pulled over for going about 78 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Uphill. The highway patrol officer was just shaking his head as he issued a warning: "If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes I wouldn't have believed it."
I'm glad your daughter is doing so well in her life. May it continue to be sunshine for her. :)
...and.......good night!
I'm suddenly very very very tired.:)
p.s. Looking forward to the Winter Olympics and remembering 4 years ago when they were where you are.:-)
I know, can you believe it has been 4 years? Yikes time flies. I am off to bed myself, I've had that stupid cold that's been going around. All of a sudden I ran out of energy.
Hi Sweetie. Funny story about your dad's lead foot.
I need to excuse myself for a bit and go to the ht. I'll peek back in before I go to bed.
If she needs that treatment, she'll get it. (interrupt) She just rubbed up over my shoulder and left ear... And now she's where she needs to be. She's a sweety. Showing me that she doesn't hold it against me, what with the shots &ct earlier today.
It took me a week to marshal resources that won't let her hide. But, they are here.
We train. period. My girls are good to go for whatever they have to sustain. 6 didn't like it. She lived it. She got great training to do better next time.
Vet approved. We work to train. Sweat a lot here, bleed very little later.

I need to send you my two cats for basic training. They have their way with me. Just that little meow and I'm theirs. :)
We actually took 2 cars for that trip. 3 of us children were in the other car, my sister was driving and was petrified that she was going to get a ticket because she was following my dad quite closely. The highway patrol officer didn't seem to notice us. We were quite horrified that our dad would get a ticket. He's a great guy but has a lead foot. And many speeding tickets to prove it. Good driver too, just likes to drive fast.
All's I can say to you both is good night! Time to split the scene... See ya tomorrow! And every KA-BOOM means less IED's our guys face. TG! Goodnight, FRiends!
It's week One of training, and we're halfway thru a container of the Pounce(tm) stuff.
I'm too sappy, except for the support of friends.

Note to self... reprogram the hibachee to play retreat, last call, and taps....
Maybe then, I'll know what time it is.
/johnny
G'nite Johnny. It looks like I'm the last one here. I'll dim the lights and tiptoe out.
And I will NOT drink Caffinated Soda after 3:00 pm as long as I live.
