I have been watching the Local News at Noon. The feature story was how today is when hordes of people hit the stores to return unwanted Christmas gifts. Is this common? Am I just extremely fortunate to have a decent class of friends? I have never in my life returned a gift to the store. Every piece of clothing I have ever received fit well and was of a better quality and style that I would have bought for myself. Every piece of jewelry, every tool, every gadget I have received was useful and appreciated.
Only time I ever returned something was a shirt that my sister bought me that was the wrong color. I exchanged it for the same shirt, albeit in blue rather than neon.
One of the few times I ever returned a gift is when a co-worker, for my birthday, gave me the EXACT SAME blouse I happened to be wearing the day she brought in my present--same color, style, everything. It was pretty hilarious. With Christmas gifts, even if I don't particularly like something I typically just donate it to Goodwill after a while rather than return it to the store.

Don't return.

I've never returned a gift.
My first Ex made me return a lamp TO my Grandmother. That didn't go over very well.
I'll have to try that someday - if I ever recieve a gift I don't want.
That does not exactly come under the heading of How to Keep Peace in the Family. Maybe one of the reasons the spouse is now an ex?
Happy New Year!
I aint exactly a fruitcake lover. Id have to donate it to the ladies at my favorite watering hole.
I've returned stuff that doesn't fit, don't like, got more than one of or to get something I wanted more. lol
decent class of friends. or you are a very generous-minded receiver. I love my brother and my mother but when I see the tchotchkes they give me, my mind boggles - how did they decide my preferred decor includes "funky"?
I've learned my mother-in-law doesn't care for anything she hasn't chosen herself - so she sends money and I send food. A happy accomodation.

I seem to be lucky!
