The pealed the bells, both loud and deep,
"God is not dead nor doth he sleep!
The wrong shall fail, the right revail,
With Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men."

I'm off to put heat on my hip, it is tired and sore.

May Santa fill you stockings with good things tonight and may he put what you wish for, under the tree. Dont' forget to put his cookies and milk out.

Jemian and Mozie, thank you for the sons you raised to be our protectors at this time. Those men have great Moms and Dada. Prayers continue for their safety.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL. "Nite".

I received one last year as I worked heart & soul for the election. No contributions last year or this year. No card this year. I don't really mind. I have seen it & saved the graphic. Being the "inner circle" of 250,000 isn't the most desirable thing to me at this point. Merry Christmas Till..

My goodness. Has FR been down? Or is everyone busy elsewhere?

Our hectic Christmas is over and the rest is laid back, quiet and for any adults who wander thru.

The kids arrived at 2:00

Promptly at 2:30 the door bell rang, and Santa Claus walked in the door. (Hubby's nephew who is in the Seminary at Notre Dame). I wish you could have seen the eyes on those kids. What a stitch.

The oldest gd smelled a rat. She's 8. She told me she was pretty sure she knew the "guy behind those ratty whiskers". I quickly removed her to the Utilityroom and we had a quick talk about the importance of keeping secrets.

There is enough food left to do it all over again tomorrow.

The table clothes are in the washing machine, the dishwasher is running. The wrapping has been hauled to the dumpster.

The church was full at 5:00 Mass. I am on my second cup of Hazelnut Coffee spiked with Bailey's. I will probably be awake all night.

I'm heading to the kitchen to do more straightening. (and to get another cup of coffee)

I just listened to Maria Callas sing Ava Maria. When I saw your post, I decided that listening to Callas was going to be my treat for the evening and the wait was well worth it.

Thank you for posting those wonderful music selections, but mostly for being you.

One lady came in around 515...she wanted green beans...I had to tell her...sorry we ran out....so then she asks....any collard greens....sorry I say...another lady bought the last bunches an hour early...so she gets an attitude...wasn't my fault...she waited to shop for her house full of guests(her words) until the last possible moment.

I'm sorry you have to take the frustrations of people who wait until the last minute to assemble their ingredients. Why do tempers have to be so short?

My family will be coming tomorrow, so tonight I'm on FR 'visiting' w/all of you. I've finished doing everything...cooking, cleaning, shopping, wrapping...and now resting, counting my blessings, and thinking about the reason for it all....a baby born to teach us to love one another as God loves us, to lead us all to God the Father, and to die that we might have everlasting life.

Good night.

Night. I spend tomorrow over at my SIL's family's place. No cooking there for me.

My SIL's dad is Cambodian, limited in English, but rich in caring. I'll have a great day, nodding to things I do NOT understand. ;>)

Good Night, you two.

A fine mist is falling and it is noticably colder than it was earlier today.

I've got plenty to do before I sleep, but my feet and legs are killing me, so I'm resting a bit before I do the final cleanup.

I'm sorry. I tried my best not to forget anything. But...

I think I really do have everything. I still need to stuff the turkey. Both the dressing and the turkey have been cooling separately. I'll stuff it tonight and maintain the cool temps until cooking in the morning. I'll set the table tonight. The youngest has the silver polished and the older two have ironed the napkins and table cloth. I have one more flower arrangement to make and then... THAT'S IT!

Late this afternoon, I called my dad to make sure they had some place to dine tomorrow. Last year we dined together and so I wanted to give his bride's family a chance. BUT, we hadn't talked and nothing had been said. I also wanted to be very careful and give no one time to hijack my dinner. That has been done before by "helpful" people who have changed elegant dinners to casual buffets. AAAaaaach. Each to his own and sometimes I like formality. Anyway, Dad and Step-mamma had no plans so I promptly issued an invitation. Also included is my Step-Aunt. It's still only eight people total.

I am running low on Diet Coke. This could be a problem. I will ration it out and last until Monday morning. Since there are no grocery stores open. Imagine, wanting to spend time with your family on Christmas.

LOL! I hear you. I'm glad I don't have to put up with any liberal in-laws this year.

My SIL's dad was an officer that fought the communists in Cambodia. He raised a strong, fine boy that married my daughter. And a strong, fine soldier for the US Army (if he would learn when to keep his mouth shut).

I won't worry about the food or politics tomorrow. I love Cambodian food, and Pop makes Barry Goldwater look like a liberal. He's fought communism. Personally. Up close.

He also has the hook-up on band-saw blades. When he saw some of my gear, he made it painfully clear that I would be dishonoring the family if I actually paid money for them, when he can supply them.

He's a neat old goat. We get along well. ;>)
