I'm sorry. I tried my best not to forget anything. But...
I think I really do have everything. I still need to stuff the turkey. Both the dressing and the turkey have been cooling separately. I'll stuff it tonight and maintain the cool temps until cooking in the morning. I'll set the table tonight. The youngest has the silver polished and the older two have ironed the napkins and table cloth. I have one more flower arrangement to make and then... THAT'S IT!
Late this afternoon, I called my dad to make sure they had some place to dine tomorrow. Last year we dined together and so I wanted to give his bride's family a chance. BUT, we hadn't talked and nothing had been said. I also wanted to be very careful and give no one time to hijack my dinner. That has been done before by "helpful" people who have changed elegant dinners to casual buffets. AAAaaaach. Each to his own and sometimes I like formality. Anyway, Dad and Step-mamma had no plans so I promptly issued an invitation. Also included is my Step-Aunt. It's still only eight people total.
I am running low on Diet Coke. This could be a problem. I will ration it out and last until Monday morning. Since there are no grocery stores open. Imagine, wanting to spend time with your family on Christmas.
Isn't that funny? I had that very same thought as I headed home today. (I don't drink it, but I need it for some guests.) I figured that surely if I ran out, there would be a convience store open that I could get some. ;-)
Merriest Christmas to you and yours.
