An Egyptian man discovered on his wedding day that his fiancée of three years was a man who had been concealing his identity behind a veil, the daily Al-Gomhuria reported Wednesday. The 26-year-old groom-to-be, Tamer Shehata, was notified by a female guest attending his wedding that his would-be wife was a man in women's clothing.
When Shehata confronted his fiancée, the latter broke down and revealed that 'she' was actually an 18-year-old man called Ahmed Abo Zeid, the newspaper said.
Abo Zeid confessed that he had tried several times to undergo a sex change but had failed to secure doctors' approval.
The man, whose face was obscured to Shehata by a niqab or face veil was quoted in the paper as saying that he had intended to tell his husband the truth after they were married, and had hoped to convince him to consummate the marriage.
He was held for 45 days on charges of swindling and posing as a woman.
Not all countries make a habit of having sex without marriage. Of course, in this case, it might not have been a bad idea to do a little "exploring."

If someone were to make that kind of discovery on their wedding night, the marriage could be annulled on the basis of fraud (unless the participants were in Massachusetts or some other state which allowed same-sex marriage).
Plus, if I'm slow dancing with my betrothed during the engagement, I might just somehow figure out if it's another man. Maybe not...

Well, when they said 72 virgins, they didn't say of which sex. Anyway, at least he's not engaged to a camel (or a dolphin like that insane woman in Israel).
