Hello Freepers,
As always, I start to do a Google search (The best, of course), and then I remembered that I always get better results by searching Free Republic!!
But, I did a search and couldn't find anything, so here I am.
You'll notice the URL I've listed above takes you to a Message Board called "Raging Bull"...I found it through Goodle, but I'm not too impressed.
I'm not looking for the magic formula stock market message board, just some place trust-worthy, that maybe some of you get some info.
Dean
Oh...By the way...Maybe this is how I can return the favor...
Need a last minute gift??
Go get a Homedics Shiatsu Massaging Cushion!!! I just got one and it's the one of the best things I've EVER bought!!!
AVOID THEM.
Too Many Morons posting with way too much conviction, and it would only confuse your decision making process.
Do your own DD.
Good Luck!
Husbands a stock broker, Raging Bull was his "hangout" way back when he was daytrading.
Yeah, I know that, but I thought by asking here, I could find a little less moronic one.
And in case it matters, about the only way I've made my decisions so far is by watching Bulls and Bears (And the other ones on FOX) and buying heavy their top picks for 2006...Then I also bought Google...I figure it's GOT to split! It's about 425 bucks a share! And went ahead and bought Yahoo, thinking they might follow in Google's footsteps. Another I bought pretty heave is Sirius Radio. Yeah, I know what we all think of Howard Stern, but the man is a proven MONEY MAKER!! (Hmmm...That makes me think? Does Rush affect any specific stock by quite a bit?)
Then my other two big buys are from an add (That I found on Google) from two guys who are hocking their book...They made 71% and 68% return last year...They were giving away both their number one picks for 2006 if you gave them your email (So, they can spam you, I'm sure)...So I gave them one of my throw-away emails and got them...They're Netflix (Which makes sense...It's something new, and computer/internet related) and CDW (Whatever that is...The sign is CDWC).
And just a little more info on me...
I just changed jobs so had to rollover my 401K...So, I sent it to Scottrade. It's pretty cool getting to buy stocks instead of just picking a few Mutual Funds.
Watch out. From my experience, none of the public message boards are very good and most postings are very suspect.
Yahoo is most active and ClearStation the most professional. Yahoo sucks and is full of idiots and bigger idiots. ClearStation is too barren. Listening to anyone on a stock chat board would put you in that catagory too.
I don't have a recommendation but hope you get one. I'd like to find a good stock message board myself.
A few weeks back someone here at FR talked about starting a regular stock thread, but guess he/she decided not to, I haven't seen one yet.
The Yahoo boards are filled with bashers and pumpers. But some of the posters are very knowledgeable, and they seem to follow and study the stock/sector very closely.
And, of course, the Motley Fool is a popular website newsletter/forum. You might try their free trial offer.
