CFN Expert Picks 2005-2006 Bowls
College Football News.com ^ | 16 November 2005 | CFN

Here are the picks from several college football dignitaries along with Clucko the Chicken. Put down two feed dishes, one representing one team and one representing another and whichever dish the chicken goes to first is the team that's going to win. You'll do just as well. (Really, the pick is a coin flip. Don't laugh; Clucko won the 2000 Bowl Pool among 24 entrants.) You can get to the Expert Picks in the above dropdown under Predictions.

For the Bowls, each "expert" not only gives his pick, but also his confidence in his pick ranking the bowl picks against the spread. The pick he is the MOST confident in gets a 28, LEAST confident gets a 1. Be sure to scroll down all the way for all the picks.

The pickers: Pete Fiutak - CFN, Rich Cirminiello - CFN, Matthew Zemek - CFN, Mark Risley - CFN, John Harris - CFN, Trey Luerssen - Foxsports.com, Eric Edholm - Pro Football Weekly, Steve Greenberg - The Sporting News, Tom Dienhart - The Sporting News, Matt Hayes - The Sporting News, Todd Wright - ESPN Radio, Clucko the Chicken - KFC ...

Well if Tressel thinks his defense can keep it a low scoring game then do you expect him to go the Marty Schottenheimer route?

nah....

his last couple bowl game plans have been excellent, going back to the Miami game.

I would guess that he will come out and get Troy Smith on the edges and throwing/running and trying to run Pittman right at the ND defense, which they have had troubles with at times.

If the Ohio State offensive line puts in a game like it did against Michigan, it will be a long day for the ND defense.

That doesn't include what the Texas running backs will do up the middle in the 4th quarter. Also, in case you haven't been paying attention, Texas has a defense too. I agree that Vince has to be on to win. He needs to hit his recievers in stride and they can't have a sluggish first quarter like they are prone to do some times. I just think USC is going to run into a buzz saw. (Assuming the Longhorns haven't been getting drunk and fat for three weeks of course...lol)

Adrian Peterson wasn't very happy about losing the trophy last year..and look what happened to him in the Orange Bowl. VY had better keep his wits about him when he plays the Trojans, our he will lose everything.

Vince Young is not too happy that Bush has his trophy.

Yeah... and last year Jason White and Adrian Peterson weren't happy that Leinart had their trophy... and we all know where that got them.

Keep Quinn and company off the field and the Irish won't stand a chance.

nope...

And Quinn said the other week that since he grew up in Dublin, OH, which is a suburb of Columbus, that he always wanted a shot at the Buckeyes. that isn't exact but it's what he meant.

That's cool. I am sure that is what the guys from Ohio that play for MIchigan say as well.

Should be fun.

Yeah....well Oklahoma had a "Superior" defense last year as well, remember it was the best USC had ever faced with their big stud lineman that just got crushed by SC's O-line.

I cannot for the life of me remember a soul saying that. I do however remember talk about OU's pass defense being among the worse in the nation. Oh well history is written by the winners I guess.

"VY had better keep his wits about him"

And the Trojan defenders will do everything possible to get inside his head. It could be four very long quarters of football for Vince. You can play mad and beat lesser teams. But not USC.

LOL

actually that could be a good game.

We get to see how good or bad the Big East is.

But UGA will win the game.

No doubt. It seems like the Big East champ will be picked last in the BCS bowls for the foreseeable future.

ESPN Game Day was saying that OU's D-Line w/ Tommie Harrison(????) and Cody were just to big and fast for USC's O-Line the very day of the game.

I think I also recall them saying that Nebraska wouldn't be able to handle Florida's passing attack before the 1996 Fiesta Bowl.
