I only caught the last segment of this series. As it all unfolded, I realized that Rebecca did an outstanding job of sucking up to Yahoo .. but she forgot that the goal was to raise money. If she didn't do that, then she failed her mission. She got confused over who her client was. She also dropped the ball, bigtime, when she failed to go out and greet Trump when he arrived. That may seem like a small thing, but you don't leave your boss out there by himself . . it was a major mistake.

That was when I realized that she was going to lose. No matter how well she had done in everything else, she lacked the experience to determine who her client was, and that you don't treat your boss like he is a nobody. She also missed the goal .. she didn't raise any money.

I have known a lot of educated idiots. Randall did not strike me as one of them.

Don't get me wrong. Trump made the right choice. But she was/is extraordinarily talented and driven. Cripes, she had a broken ankle for most of the series, remember when Amarosa went into a coma when a two ounce piece of plaster hit her on the head?

I just think that Trump offered him something very positive, and he made the wrong choice. If I was Trump myself, I'd question that bigtime.

".she didn't raise any money..

Bingo! If it was a "weekly team task", then Rebecca would have been FIRED and sent packing from the Board room.

Randall's team took in $11,000 for charity. Rebecca sent her fat donors home with a goody bag and an "envelope" to send in. She said she didn't want to cheapen the Charity event by soliciting money before they left. But not one potential donor sent in a dime..

Randall deserved the win in the end.

She got bowled over by Yahoo, period. Her first boss was Trump, second was the Elizabeth Glazier Pediatric Aids Foundation, and the third was Yahoo as host for the event. Yahoo wouldn't have stood up and made a 100 grand donation (fifty to each side) if they didn't agree that the event became about Yahoo.

A single poster and a flyer? They're probably bigger promotion at my local super market for this charity, and that was the entire point of the task.

Failure to raise any money can be excused; failure to promote who the event is for and letting the host take over is a total loss. Randal made mistakes, the biggest was probably not taking the task seriously enough during the concept stage, but by the end, he stayed on task, promoted the chairty and raised funds.
