And now I think I'm going to leave. Because one my first post I was called a troll, and told by a poster I made them sick. Then some dink corrected my grammar. Are the rest of you nice?
PS I voted for GWB last year, (my first time ever voting, I'm 19.)
Their, that looks write.
You certainly are a brave young ?lady?.
It took me several months after signing up before even posting to a thread and it was a haha funny thread, nothing controversial.
Of course, I had lurked for quite awhile, I knew exactly what I was getting into and I knew it wasn't always pretty!
Hang in there, read and watch awhile. Nice to see a conservative young person, beats the heck out of a liberal young person. :^)
Give it a couple more months. That'll change for you, too.
As I said- only liberals cut and run.
Seems to me, though, that offtherose has done precisely that. "I just joined Free Republic ... and now I'm leaving" is pretty much the epitome of a liberal's cut and run strategy, regardless of who she voted for.
People keep ragging on me about my misspelled tag line - I reply, "Hey - if it was spelled correctly, no one would believe I wrote it!"
Call me Leapfrog, Stuart.
Well, that's just great! Very happy for you both.
No s/b Know
Mom's tend to do that. Either way, at the end of the day, you will be married to the one you love, nothing better than that.
I agree. I humor my mom and let her do whatever she wants...within reason of course. I had to draw the line at getting the bagpipers though LOL.
LOL! I haven't been called a moron, but stupid.
That seems to be the new trend the last few years. What is that about? My hubby's best friend got married a year and a half ago, had bagpipes. The guys just thought it was fun to pull up their pant legs and get a picture with the guy. He was good though, I'll give him that.
Thanks!
Mine never seem to go well. I still throw one out there every once and a while. They are a very bad thing for people with thin skin.
Second, I want to know when one is no longer considered a newbie. Check out my sign up date. I'm sure I am still considered one.
'98 and '99 are the oldtimers. All the rest of us are noooooobs.
"And now I think I'm going to leave. Because one my first post I was called a troll, and told by a poster I made them sick. Then some dink corrected my grammar. Are the rest of you nice?"
Welcome, offtherose. Just like the rest of life, don't worry about the jerks--there are some on Free Republic. Stand up for yourself, and fight when you must.
As for the guy you made sick, let's hope he vomits on his shoes right in front of his girlfriend and his mother, and that his wife sees him do so, too.
As I told cyborg: "Bagpipes are for funerals, just what's your mother trying to say?"
My opinion, we're all newbies unless we joined 2001 or before. It appears no one joined in 2002 (hence it is the breaking point).
I have decided I hate the name I chose on the spur of the moment, however, I'm not about to give up my tenure just to get a decent screen name. I may not have much time, but I'm proud of what I've got.
Huh?!
Who told you that?
Silly person.
Good to know. :)
June 11 is a good day and holds some personal meaning to me. Now that I've read that this is the day I won't forget, and sometime that afternoon I'll be thinking of you and praying for a long and blessed marriage.
