Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Takes more than that to kill a thread.
It's snowing here. Pretty!

Mornin' :-)
[sip]
I got a really late start today. The band was supposed to start at 8pm, then we found out that was just door opening time. They'd start at nine. Sat around sipping putrid beer (really... I took the first ones back... tried another tap... and it was putrid too... gave up). The band didn't start until ten. They were apparently going intil 1am or so, but we bugged out around midnight.
Didn't end up falling asleep until about two. [yawn] It's thrown me all off. :-)

It was pretty cold here this morning too. The cats didn't want to go out either so I'll have a similar problem to deal with when I get home, but not nearly as large.

Couple inches of old snow. Not sure how much we're getting now. Hopefully not enough to interfere with the Tree Trek tomorrow. But it looks lovely today.

Well, with my headache... I didn't clean stalls yesterday either...
or the day before...
I put new bedding on top... but that didn't make it go away...
I better go out there. My headache feels OK when I'm at rest, but it starts pounding when I get up and move around too much, so it may take me a few trips out there for a barrow full then rest up :~\

Well, with my headache... I didn't clean stalls yesterday either...or the day before... Oooooo, sounds nasty. You're gonna need a front end loader.
You know, farting reduces intracranial pressure, so just let 'er rip while you're outside. ;o)

OMG, I forgot!
Do you think it's too late to send a card?
Ihr stüzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.
Yes, I know it's Schiller; Beethoven merely gave it soul and immortality.

Pretty foul down at the bottom where it's been composting a couple days ;~D
But I've only half-done the pony's... Two barrows out of it and counting, but I had to come back in and change into different shoes and some gloves, my fingers were frozen. Hers is usually the worst for quantity.... don't be fooled by size :~D
Cyn's is the worst for the odorous funk she creates. Man her pee stinks.
I might add that my Bay-horse's stall is clean. he never poops inside, never pees inside... of course, his door is left open so he has a choice ;~D

Late night out on a work night is ~always~ a bad idea.
Spending a late night out on a work night drinking putrid beer in a room full of dead-smellin' hippies is even worse!

I had a therapeutic back massage once. The kids gave it to me for Mother's Day one year. The next day I felt like I'd been run over by a truck, but after that I felt great. SirKit had them every six weeks after his 'back adventure', and he swore by them. It sure kept his back in good working order.
Ain't nothing like it to get the kinks out, and those kinks can be a major cause of headaches.
