The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Goooood morning! Friday is so close I can almost taste it! I need a weekend - a long weekend. And fortunately Monday is a Federal Holy Day of Obligation.

In other news, I heard a fantastic song on the radio. Great celtic rock with a funky edge. I simply must hear it again! Alas, I missed the artist. *grumble*

It's been so long since we paid a babysitter, I have no idea how much they're paid these days. We grew our own. ;o)

Joseph's school has the day off tomorrow, so he has a four day weekend. SirKit is taking tomorrow off because David leaves on Sat. and he wants to spend a little more time with him. We likely won't see him again until the summer.

David and Clare didn't get in until 1:30 this morning, so I'm looking forward to NOT having to get up early to drive anyone to school tomorrow so I can have a nice LONG sleep!

I love my thermal carafe coffeepot with the start timer. It's ready when I get up and stays hot and fresh! Mmmm. Gotta get me another cuppa!

Morning.

Didn't sleep well last night. That ever-expanding list of git-er-done-now project is weighing on my mind.

Nothing much to do there but pick one and git-er-done.
Good luck. Got a pretty hefty ever growing list myself.

Yup. And it is job security, I guess. And it's not just me, everyone in the company is swamped. We're a bit behind the curve on our staffing ramp-up.

Mornin Pip. Going through the papers on my desk, seeing what I need to keep and what I can dump!
