The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm kinda liking it... I didn't realize Boone had talked to the tail-enders over the radio. (spoiler-shield in place!)

Didn't watch the last recap closely... and we missed the episode where Boone was in the crashed plane.

It's a good recap though.

They've managed to pack almost everything in so far. :-)

I agree... I like how they're showing the two groups side-by-side, so to speak.

We found our house on Goggle Earth. If I remember correctly, the picture must have been taken in the late afternoon in the late Fall or early Spring. There are very few leaves on the trees, and the shadows are on the East side of the trees and behind the house.

And I notice that neither one of you was able to resist.

See? How can I help you if you can't help yourselves? ;-)

I wonder how long ago those pictures were taken?

The one of my house was definitely before last hurricane season. All of the trees are still there.
