Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Could be. I'm thinkin' it's cold enough that something has crawled up under the house.

Signin' off here.
Mrs. has to decide tomorrow whether or not to go ahead with surgery on her foot. Dr. said she ~could~ go six weeks in a cast, then six more weeks of therapy and have a "bad heal." 'Course he also said since she's not a "world class athlete" that might not be a problem. Jr. was with her and wanted to hit him.
OR
She ~could~ go ahead with the pin and get it over with, but be totally out of commission for the next 10 days.
He's the professional, but she gets to decide. She's actually waiting for another doctor to call her back tomorrow. She would prefer that he do the surgery if she's going to do it.

Hmmmm.....I'm downloading MST3K. When I've got "Spybot Search and Destroy" running, the download speed doubles.
To: SuziQ
Yep...I thought about him one day and ran a search and found out he was a priest.
He was a real nice fellow. I didn't exactly dump him because we weren't that serious *yet* but it was the path we were on until I met Steve and did a sudden u-turn on him. I always felt kinda bad about that...and another reason why I'm opposed to the whole dating scene in general. I got hurt and i hate to say it but I'm sure I hurt people.
His family, from what I understand, financed setting up the Catholic church in the town he was from in Texas...a couple of them, I'm pretty sure, plus a school. (I'm sure it's not called "financed"...benefactors, maybe? You know what I mean.)
So him becoming a priest wasn't that much of a stretch and didn't surprise me when I read about it. He was a very giving person.

Evenin' folkses... getting here kinda late...
Got home to the bach pad and decided it needed a cleanin'. Everything -- and I mean everything -- was getting pretty nasty. There was stuff in the bathroom that was forming some kind of proto-civilization and they were making little signs demanding equal rights.
[whew] Much better now.

Jen, when you get to San Antonio, make sure Talon takes you to the Alamo, and to Mi Tierra!
San Antonio's a yummy colorful place! Make sure you get to see and taste some of it!

Another... three hours. Rosie is being a really great friend and has kept me company all evening. The plans seem to be under control for now!

Mi T's is an A-number-one
tourista trap, but the mariachis are great, and it's a gotta-see.
If you get a chance to go out to dinner a second time, have him float you down the River on a dinner barge. It's not the food, it's the ambiance. ¡Muy romántica!

I doubt we'll have time but it sounds like a great suggestion.
Another hour and a half here. Now I'm starting to get tired. Breaking out the emergency booster caffeine.

FR is dead at this hour. Just dead. One post every minute, maybe.
About time to pack the computer. I think I've got everything else. I will post tomorrow evening or call somebody to let you all know I got home safely. Shouldn't be a problem, nothing on any of the weather radars that looks like a concern. Wheee, I get to go home.
I'm also slap-happy. That should make this trip more fun.

Trust me ... a romantical get-away is a good thing, anytime you can arrange it.
Travel safely, girlfriend! ¡Hasta luego!
To: Rose in RoseBear
Thanks Rose! I'm glad I'm not the only one up at this hour. The world is so
weird at 3 am. Quiet and dark. Even the cats are asleep.
Hmmm, romantical get-away.... sounds nice when you say it that way...
