Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Have you heard from her lately?? I miss some of the original HH inhabitants (not that there is anything wrong with the current crowd!!)She shows up here once in awhile, but not very often...
Last summer, she rode her bike from Seattle to Portland and I went and met her when she was riding through here...

As for others of the 'original HH inhabitants', I guess we've had a few others wander off, but I'm amazed that after all these years many of that same group~ are~ still here.
If you want to know who anyone is, or where anyone went, let me know!
Maybe we could have some sort of Tolkien related project [he proposes after being away for most of the time for more than 3 years!!]
What have you got in mind?
Good morning!

She is crazy, but she's in terrific shape because of it.
I'm jealous of that part! I don't think she'd mind me saying that she was not in great shape when we first met... she looked hobbity like me :~D But she got inspired to change it and did... which is a lot more impressive than the 100 times I've gotten inspired to change it and never followed through.

You killed the thread.
Taking down the Christmas stuff here. A little too much acrimony in the process, what with too many people in too small a space.

We took our tree down last Saturday. We're having a Twelfth Night party this weekend, and there was not enough room for folks to mingle with the tree taking up space near the door to the living room. Not expecting too many, but we like for them to be able to move around as they want.

We were otherwise occupied this weekend, so Mom decided today was the day the tree went. It has gone, out the door and into the woods. My hands are still sticky.

I'm going! They just called me to come help out feeding the fire fighters in Shawnee. I have to be at the Expo Center "grandstand" area at 5am to help prepare breakfast and then we start preparing for supper at 1pm.
OLD2, any tips on how to find this facility and do you know how long it will take me to get there from the S. Tulsa area?
See, Talon! I do get to help out locally!!

What a thing to wake up to! I ended up getting away from the computer for a bit.
The only thing I can think is that someone must have said "They found the twelve!" and someone else passed it on, but added "alive", just on their own assumption.
So horrible for the families - I can't imagine. And the one man that made it isn't going to have an easy time of it.
To: 2Jedismom
Cool! Have fun! Can we get pictures?
To: JenB; SuziQ
It's still Christmas! What is the party going to be like, Suzi?
