Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I read that on a thread earlier and I'm not surprised.
I'm still hoping to see King Kong on the big screen, but when I had the choice to see one or the other - I chose Narnia.

Mom's suggestion was a drive up to fredricksburg for the afternoon activities. Browsing stores and seeing some of Texas. Would you two be up for popping over there for lunch?
To: JenB
Because it was not set for defensive mode...
:P
To: TalonDJ
Ah... makes sense! I think you need one that works in both modes at once :-D

Ugh, I feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck today.
"Oh, by the way, we need you to set up a new website shopping cart. Oh, and we need it in two days." Wha-wha-what? They've been planning this project for weeks, only decide to tell me about it today?
I hate it when the pointy-haired bosses pull stuff like that. It's one thing to be needed, but sheesh! It ~ain't~ gonna happen in two days. Takes a day just to get the hosting account in place and set up.
To: ecurbh
*shakes head*
And then they'll be the first to yell at you when the shopping cart is all they wanted it to be. After giving you 48 hours to make miracles.
Sheesh.
Best of luck, hon.

At least my boss understands that they're being unreasonable about this. But there's not a whole lot she can do about it.
Ah well.
So how's the progess on our Hobbit Hole compound and the six-figure jobs coming along?
To: RMDupree; HairOfTheDog
...I'm only *kinda* watching...but dang, for a guy that seems to consider all women over 25 as ancient and beneath notice, that dude is awfully worried about how men "over thirty" are supposedly treated.

So how's the progess on our Hobbit Hole compound and the six-figure jobs coming along? Heh...it can't come along fast enough!
To: ecurbh
Oh, and we need it in two days. heheheh... I know, I know... The Balrog used to be famous for "dropping by" the IT department late on Friday afternoons and dropping little balrog-turds on people's desks. "OH... here's some information for a website that I promised last month to mega-client and it needs to be up on Monday."
Yeesh. Be careful about those diving catches. They're good for the career but the pointy-hairs get accustomed to them.
Evenin' folkses...

*sigh*
Mr. Beepy's startin' up again. Last night a nayber went and banged on his door and ten thirty - after about three times he finally came to the door and I heard her telling him to keep it down. He apologized profusely, and kinda did.
At least I know I'm not alone. But apologies get old after awhile if behavior doesn't change.
