Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'll live with it if they stop after ten or so. If not...well, we'll see.

...and there is, I'm sorry, nothing-- NOTHING-- lamer than the same noise coming from a car full of little shrimp whitey teenage wannabe's with their little hats on sideways. And their little baggy pants that hang around midthigh. Geeez.
When I was in school those would have been the "dorks".

Oh I dunno...I just throw some vegetables in...carrots, celery, sliced cabbage (hehehe...), peas if I have 'em. Put in a bay leaf and/or thyme, peppercorns, salt, parsley, turkey meat, pasta or noodles (or rice.) I kinda just wing soups.

Be aggressive, if necessary! Has he been away at all during Christmas etcetera or has this been going on every night?

I don't use a recipe... I just wing it.
I add some onion, carrot, celery, lentils (or barley), egg noodles, and salt and pepper to taste. Sometimes add a splash of cooking wine too.

He's been good about not being loud at night...but often has his noise going during the day. This is the longest it's gone on since I put up the original fuss.
It's still pretty early here, though. I dunno if they even have much in the way of a policy about daytime noise complaints, and I hate to be a fussbudget.

Maybe some good insulated wire cutters are in order.

Apparently I'm gonna spend the year between church, crocheting, and old movies.
I guess life could be worse...but I hope I have a way to finance everything.
To: Ramius
You painted the perfect little picture there, Ramius.
The ones like that here are aggressive little buggers too. Looking for the next fight to prove their "manliness".
I steer clear.

I don't use a recipe... I just wing it. That's what I was thinkin'. I've just never made it before.
To: Corin Stormhands
But then, you're even closer to me.
Just when you heave that big sigh of relief, you'll see me sitting across from you in the teacups. LOL!

Evening Corin, well if Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day are out, what about the week leading up to and the week following? We could all go somewheres else for those two days.
Calculating distance from unknown midwestern location to location near the eastern sea. :-)

That wouldn't be much fun, no. And considering all the coughing that's going on around here, I hope it's not an omen of illness...

But then, you're even closer to me. You're missing the concept, so perhaps I should ~modify~ it to read:
There will be NO overnight family company for Thanksgiving OR Christmas in 2006.
We still want the usual folks we have for Christmas Day. As long as none of them are related to us.
Still, we're seriesly thinking of doing the House of Mouse after Christmas next (this) year.
