Mmmm...hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps...
I really should get some peppermint schnapps one of these days.
Grr...the upstairs gang continues to get louder. I really hope they don't keep at it until late.
Ramius could go and cut down their power pole, if you like. :-D
But that would likely mean you'd be without power as well.
Hmmm...thinkin' about that tradeoff...
I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't allllll the same angry sounding stuff, on and on and on and on. Does rap HAVE to be done like that? I doubt I'd like it anyway, but as it is...man, it grates on the nerves. I'm ready to climb the walls.
Not that I know of. I think directly in her yard and barnyard, since there is no underbrush or tall grass, she doesn't feel the structures would be at ~all~ that much risk. But her property backs up to wild country that from the pictures looks like it would burn fast.
The thing about these fires that I can see on TV is that it's not like a forest fire where the whole area is engulfed and there's enough fuel to keep it burning for hours, it's like a fast moving line of fire that quickly consumes the grass and keeps going.
At least it would be quiet.
I'd be worried about the sparks and windblown debris that could land on a roof.
That fire out behind my house a couple years ago was a mile or so away, but the wind blew burning bits all over the place and a couple people lost their homes.
One guy saved his house with the garden hose. The fire came right up to his back fence and burnt it to a crisp, but he just kept adding water until it fizzled out about 5 feet from his backdoor.
~fret~ Hope that fire goes out soon.
Glad you like them!
I have to make something to bring to werk on Tuesday. My supervisor said "help yourself" to the coconut macaroons he had on his desk. I cleaned him out of macaroons so now I have to bake up something to replace them with.
Oh - the fires aren't anywhere near her now. It's dry where she is, but the current fires are ~elsewhere~ in the state.
Evenin'
~They~ say that whatever you do on the first day of the year, you'll be doing for the rest of the year. I certainly hope not, because I spent 5 hours cleaning and rearranging Luke's room.
Hadn't planned to (even though it needed it), but when I went to get Luke's clothes for church I discovered that my sister-in-law (we'll call her "she-who-burned-a-precooked-ham") had stuffed so many clothes into his drawers that she broke out the bottom of one of the drawers. Fortunately, it's IKEA and therefore fixable, butfercryinoutloud how stoopied can you be? (don't answer that).
Anyway, I decided since I was there, and since a nayberlady had given us a bunch of (really nice) clothes from her son that are still a bit big for Luke, to go ahead and take care of everything.
At church the Pastor asked if any had made resolutions. Wife and I raised our hands because we have made one.
There will be NO overnight company for Thanksgiving OR Christmas in 2006. None. Nana. Zilch. Zero. No how. No way.
Setting past instructions regarding thepool and theproduction aside, if I begin to backtrack on this one, you are fully authorized to provide g'nad with the necessary resources to take me out.
I have spoken with my insurance agent (at 3:00 a.m.). You will be fully compensated.
Failure is not an option.
I am really, really hoping that this whole rap/innercity gangsta hip thing dies off and soon.
Literally overnight disco became uncool. We did it to disco. We can do it to this junk.
The world would be better for it.
Well that ~is~ a relief.
I hear you're gonna be sleeping under your bed tonight. ;-)
Anybody got a good turkey soup recipe? I boiled the carcass today, so I've got a good stock and meat. Gonna make it soup tomorrow.
Yikes!!
I'd rather face a burnt ham and broken drawer!
Hah! Stick to it man...
Agreed.
No love lost for the bump-da-thump here. Makes folks edgy and mean - I guess they need to play up the whole "gangsta" image when it's playing.
And I can't hear my own car stereo when they stop next to me at a red light. How are they not deaf?
I'd happily welcome back disco if it'd save me from this crap!
Like I said, it wouldn't get on my nerves so much if it wasn't all angry sounding and foul.
I also really don't get *why* it's apparently a requirement that it be listened to at HIGH volume with the bass cranked up to the point where it makes me dizzy.
Hmmm... well, Corin, in your case I hope it's not true. However...
Any of the neighbors about? Maybe you could take a delegation. Give him one warning and then call the cops.
Awww... that's a shame.... We were all gonna come visit next year.
