Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That's it. Timing is everything. And a hang fire with a lit fuse down the barrel already, well... it's bad.
Well, gang... gonna go board the USS Couch and flip around between South Park and whatevertheheck else is on.
Later! :-)

I'm more of an enchilladas and chile rellenos guy myself!

SirKit likes Reislings, too. I like them, but I also like the Piesporter. I've developed a taste for Sauvignon Blanc as well. The Veramonte label out of Chile is particularly nice, and, even better, is less than $10 a bottle!

Hey, I'm from the Florida
peninsula, so I'm in Eastern time!!
Happy New Year anyhow!
To: HairOfTheDog; ecurbh; Ramius; RosieCotton
Happy New Year West Coasters, in an hour! Yes Rosie, I know you're an hour earlier, but I'm hoping you're still at your party!
I'm fixing to hit the sack cause we're singing at 11:00 Mass, and we have to be there at 10:15. Normally we go at 9:00 but we're doing the same music as we did at Christmas, so we don't need much in the way of rehearsal.
Hope 2006 is the best for all of you!

Happy New Year to you westerners!
To: HairOfTheDog; All
Heh...the little dog that rang in the new year with us did about that, too. ;-)
Happy New Year, all! I had fun, though as it turned out, four others that had said they planned to be there didn't show...so it was me and the family and one other girl. We chatted and watched part of "Sleepless in Seattle" and part of "Kate and Leopold" (I really want to watch the rest of that one), and hung out in the backyard for awhile - they have a fire pit. Got to see a few fireworks off in the distance. Oh, and there was a LOT of good food. Mmm...shrimp!
So...it wasn't quite what any of us had expected, I don't think, but relaxing and fun all the same. And the drive home was completely uneventful, thank goodness. I enjoyed myself.
And now to bed, and now to bed!
