The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

There's quite a fireworks show going on outside... all up and down the beach. Dang... some it is some pretty big ordnance...

Cool.

Well, they dropped a bomb with the 'talent contest'. Did that count. Actually nothing that we're aware of. Closest thing is the Plaza Lighting Countdown.

How would you make it any sweeter? And how does it compare with a 'bought' Piesporter?

I tried that once. Didn't work out. It's the part about getting it to explode ~after~ you fire it that turns out to be tricky.

Heh. There was a bit flurry of rapid fire just a minute ago, coming from down around the corner. It was a little faster than they probably intended. Like somebody dropped a flare into the box...

I'm not sure... any sugar added during fermentation gets turned intuh alcohol... not that that's a bad thing... it's not that much less sweet, but enuff... everybody that's tried it, likes it...

she prefers a sweeter Riesling style, but she picked a Piesporter, so I abdicate responsibility... she still likes it tho...

I'm much more fluent in beer...
