Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I thought about connecting your post to the one below it in some way, but decided that wasn't wise...I'd better go to bed before I do somethin' stupid. ;-)

So three out of five Stormhands family members had surgery this week. Okay, Jr's was outpatient (actually they all were), but he had part of the nail cut out this afternoon. And he got an antibiotic. And narcotics for the pain.
Luke has been begging for a traditional "pizza and movie night," so I picked up pizza at Little Caesar's.
I set up the DVD.
Then I took Luke's pizza and drink to him.
Then I took wife's pizza and drink to her.
Then I took Jr's pizza and drink to him.
(Nana didn't have pizza...it's the cheese...)
I'm just sayin'...
To: Corin Stormhands
I'm sorry Corin... It's my latitude ;~D

To: Corin Stormhands
I'm just sayin'... You're gettin all this experience.... you could make a bundle in respite care, ya'know.
To: Corin Stormhands
The only year in our marriage we ever served collards and black-eyed peas was the year we got pregnant with Luke. Pea-hater!
To: Corin Stormhands
Poor Nana!
I hope that at least she got some cabbage. :)

Just wanted you guys to know that my wife Jeanne was admitted to Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville the day before Christmas Eve with ideopathic pancreatitis, which means pain on the level of childbirth, but lasting for days, diagnosed and a small thrown clot lodged in the right lung. She was discharged after a week and is resting out here on the farm under my and our children's care. She should be OK, but is still very weak and experiencing considerable pain, but is finally managing to eat a little. Also, we're fighting an infection that she caught at the hospital. I think she'll be OK, but am still worried and could use a couple prayers if anyone has a mind.
2J, you'll know what all this means. The condition is normally survived just fine, but it's a serious one. Ironically, one of the main causes is alcohol consumption, which is something that Jeanne, unlike me, does not do. So in her case, the cause remains unknown.
Anyhow, the best to everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Will check back in when I get a chance.
