Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh my.
Those guys really are disturbed. There's a fine line between... heck there may in fact be no line between genius and madness. Genius is merely madness with a paycheck.
Say... that's tagline material...

Hey Rosie!
Remember that book I was telling you about? Outlander? I forgot to mention just how popular it was. :-D
If I decide to go on a "proper tour" of Scotland, instead of just a freewheeling sorta thing, I'd take this one.

Huh - that's interesting! You'd get to see all the places from the books, right?
I wanna go to Scotland, too. *snif* I'd be scared to go alone, though, and would rather go freewheeling than with a tour group...so that kinda puts me in a bind. So does the whole no time / no money thing. ;-)
But maybe someday!
To: RosieCotton
I'll go with ya, chica. Let's hope it happens one day.

A whole group of Hobbit Holers traipsing thru Scotland.Oh, that could be a *blast*! Or really scary, depending on which side you were on...heh.
Good night, Ruthy!

Far from driving, that was Jen, not me.

You risk financial disaster by not having collards and peas. :) The only year in our marriage we ever served collards and black-eyed peas was the year we got pregnant with Luke.
Six weeks in the NICU. I can tell you about financial disaster.
To: TalonDJ
Oh, I know! But you do have a reputation... ;-)
Good evening! I'm getting ready to head to bed here, but I hope you guys give us some updates soon!

The black eyed peas didn't make you pregnant Corin ;~D

To those voyeurs wanting details...
Have had a great time so far. Despite Jen's many warnings and allusions to insanity her family is pretty much just as I expected them to be. Just your basic nice and interesting bunch of folks. Her folks gave her a gift card to a fancy joint which covered most of a very nice dinner. Our first really 'just to two of us' date actually. I suppose it was all romantic and stuff what with the candle light and the 10th story view of the town at night ;D
And then we... hey, I don't have to tell yall EVERYTHING.
To: RosieCotton; RMDupree; HairOfTheDog
I wouldn't mind some of those tankards, and a couple of good, homey chairs and tables, and some of the books and maps and... ...and this ashtray...
To: HairOfTheDog
The black eyed peas didn't make you pregnant Corin ;~D Nor did they ward off financial disaster...
To: RosieCotton
Updates? Having a nice time. He hasn't run screaming yet and the family are all behaving so far. Even the cats are being good. Guess the not-so-subtle threats worked. :-)
