Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good morning!
I have the absolute busiest day scheduled for today! We're doubling up on school, trying to get done early so we can start our vacation...more than two weeks with no school! Yippeee!
Then we have gymnastics today then Steve is coming home and taking us to see Narnia (a guy in his office gave him free tickets!)
I still have no wrapping paper or tape. I still need to pick up some odds and ends for the boys.
As soon as Joshua gets up, I'm logging off for the day...too much to do. And it snowed a bit overnight!

Morning Corin. Let us know how the surgery and all goes.
Gonna be a quiet day here. Apparently we don't have any real plans.

No real plans is all I really wanted for Christmas. ;-)
But I have a geek-ish question. Wife needs Powerpoint on thelaptop (we've had part of this discussion before). Laptop has Windows XP home on it.
Her work gave her Windows XP Professional which includes Microsoft Office (and thus Powerpoint).
Can I just install it ~over~ what's on there? Or do I need to ~remove~ something first?
Discuss.
(and thanks)

You should just be able to upgrade. It might even keep your files and stuff though you should back up just to be sure.

It was released on DVD a few years back and I bought it through the Disney Club.
I need something to remind me or they'll be released and locked back up in the vault with me none the wiser!!

Yeah.
Ungh...I have wayyy too much to do today...laundry, finishing wrapping presents, packaging presents, mailing presents, going to the library (turns out that Christmas CD is already overdue), scoping out the interview location, and cleaning. And possibly baking sourdough bread.
To: Corin Stormhands
Office is on the same disc as Windows?
Even so, there should be a way to install just office, if that's what she wants to do. Technically, you can install XP Pro over the top...but it may not be the best way of doing things.
To: RosieCotton
At least you can do the mailing, library, and scoping out tasks at the same time. That should help, right?
Good luck on all the stuff!
