I know what you mean. I have a romantic subplot in mine as well. Since it is 'fox-hole love' in the middle of a war it will not be as 'pure' but I do not go into detail either in that regard.

Lucas says in one of the DVDs, I forgot which one, that people always say to him, "Oh, you should have kept that scene in the movie! Oh, the movie would be better with this scene!" And he says as much as he wants to keep them there, they gotta' be taken out. They're unnecessary padding, that make the movie fat and bloated. That's the beauty of DVDs: we get to see the deleted scenes on their own, separate from the main movie, where they belong.

Thats true. I do wish they had kept the fuel tank exlosion. When I first saw the movie and I saw the Invisible Hand split into two as it was entering the atmosphere and I was wondering "what caused it to do that?" The deleted scene explained it.

I never even thought about WHY the ship was splitting. In Star Wars, you kind of have to turn your logic off and enjoy the fun.

Anikin: Appearently not
Anikin: I say patience.
Obi-wan: Patience.
Anikin: Yes. R2 will be along and... he'll release the ray shields.
R2: Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!!

You're welcome. I don't read much science fiction, but I do like action, and it sounds like your story has plenty of that.

The entire novel spans the war from the first strike all the to the end. I will leave it open for a sequel too (and planning on it while writing so as to make the two go together seamlessly)

That's great. I wish you the best of luck with it. Writing is hard work, that's for sure. I've been thinking of taking my half-finished novel out of the trunk to see if I can resuscitate it.
Well, it's after 3 and I'm starting to feel sleepy, so I think I will bid you goodnight. I'll try to check in again tomorrow.
Nice talking to you. Goodnight. :-)
