Yesterday my husband and I were doing some errands. We were stopped at a red light and woman in a truck pulled up beside us, but just a little ahead. On her back window was a sticker that said, "I f#$%ed your boyfriend." (it was written out, no symbols like I just did) She also had several other offensive stickers, but that one was by far the worst. When the light turned green we got up beside her, my husband honked several times to get her attention but she wouldn't look at us. She finally did and I mouthed "you pig" at her. I'm just glad I didn't have my 5 kids with me, included my 6 year old who likes to read everything she sees, out loud.
Sorry tuffy, but I have to say this, will calling someone like this woman a pig shame her???? I don't think so. She'll either be amused, or become outraged herself that someone dares call her a name for practiceing her right to free speech.
If you're outraged by bad language, then useing ugly responses even tho they are not necessarily bad words is NOT going to help.

Your right.
I would also just laugh it off and remind them (16, 18 and 13) that dating better than "going steady"
I'm going to have to disagree with ya on this one, Becky. I wish I would have called the cops. It didn't even occur to me.
...I mouthed "you pig" at her.

She was probably thrilled by your reactions. Exhibitionists like to shock.
That's OK:), But I don't think the cops would have done anything. Is there a law in your town/state against that sort of thing? I'd rather not tie cops up with something like that anyway. There are alot bigger issues they should be, and arent', IMO, dealing with.
You know I don't know how many times I've sat in fast food resturants and heard the F word over and over from kids at other tables. That sort of thing is everywhere. The best defense is a good offense, and that is teaching our children what is acceptable and what isn't and making sure they behave accordingly.
Becky
I don't believe I would have laughed it off. If they had noticed it and read it out loud, it would have been time for a serious discussion on what is and what is NOT acceptable language and behavior when dealing with unacceptable language.

I saw a Moms Opposing Bush (MOB) bumper sticker that read: If you're reading this, you're not the President.
What's the deal with your link? Popup window logging into Yahoo as Tuffy? Strange.
Exactly, I agree.
Becky
I see your point, but at a certain age they would know not to read it aloud. I guess my way of addressing an embarassing and ignorant situation is to shrug off the fool as if we all know how stupid she is.
I had to put something in there to be able to post this story. Tuffybudgeorge is my yahoo email address. I wasn't sure how to do it otherwise.
911 is for LIFE THREATENING emergencies. Calling them for something like this is why people who are having heart attacks have to wait 20 minutes for service. Do not tie up emergency services for petty bs.
Good grief.....
I'm waiting for the day that my 8 year old asks about the "Gentleman's Clubs" billboards along I-94 in NW Indiana.
Not me, I would have ignored it. I've learned to move gently among these sick people-road rage is an ugly and dangerous thing to behold, much less to become involved it.
The bumper sticker is atrocious but some of the responses im reading are just as shocking.
Call the cops? 911? Scraping on people's car?
The person is an ignoramus and calling her a pig is fine as it is your right to do it but as abhorrent as her bumper sticker is, its also her right to have it.
But they're 15 and 17 now and at least think they know what's what.
Makes sense, brings up an odd dialog box in firefox.
