Columbus- Ohio State senior linebacker Bobby Carpenter does not know if he will play in the Fiesta Bowl after breaking his right fibula against Michigan.
Speaking for the first time since the injury, Carpenter said Sunday he did not need surgery, but the 6-to-8 week recovery time puts the final game of his career on the edge of his timetable.
The Fiesta Bowl will be played on Jan. 2, 44 days after the Buckeyes' 25-21 win over Michigan.
Carpenter began walking without crutches only in the past few days, while still wearing a protective boot. He not only has the Fiesta Bowl to consider, but the NFL combine in late February. Carpenter is expected to be picked in the first three rounds of April's NFL draft.

You wouldn't get more pleasure knocking them off it they were unbeaten?
more yes, but beating them at all is fun in and of itself.
True enough.
Kinda like New England beating Miami.
It's fun when it sucks, but when they are good, it's just different....
I guess it differs by degree. If the Pats were to beat the Colts in the playoffs this year it'd be sweeter than the wins of the previous two years.
yeah that too....but I was going for a divisional rival because that is what Michigan and Ohio State are....
The Pats biggest rival is the Jets and well they just aren't great this year.
ok....the Jets then...
last year it was fun beating them though....
It was. If the Jets had Nugent last year I could have seen the Pats beat them in the AFC title game.
yeah....
I wonder if Nugent is hurt. I mean the guy was hitting 70 yd FGs in practice, and using the normal ration, that equates to about 58 yards or so in a game. But he missed that 53 yarder short. Makes me wonder....
If the Pats can get as healthy as possible come January we might yet see that expression yet again.
Maybe he caught the same thing that ruined Pennington's arm.
LOL
except there won't be any snow in the dome...
could be...
The Pats have had plenty of success in that building as well.
