JohnBoy & Billy Pro-war Message This Morning
bigshow | 12/06/2005 | David gibson

Posted on 12/06/2005 5:48:10 AM PST by HOTTIEBOY

Did anyone listen to JohnBoy & Billy this morning? They took five minutes out of their normal silliness to talk about Iraq. Specifically how the media is portraying the war. They went as far as saying Ramsey Clark is a traitor and Howard Dean is a nut that slaps the soldiers in the face every time he speaks. They said that the service men and women are coming home and expressing their anger and resentment of how the media is losing the war for them. Soldiers are ashamed of the media and think the media ought to be ashamed of themselves for undermining all the progress that they have made. JohnBoy and Billy said that the soldiers see a completely different world between what Iraq really is and what the American people are told it is. They said liberals should be ashamed for doing this to fit their agenda. JohnBoy & Billy have always leaned to the right. I don't know what their personal affiliation is, if they even have one. But I know from listening to them, they can't stand a liberal. It is rare that they talk politics like that but I am Glad they did. That few minutes that they talked spoke volumes. They are a national radio show, so I know they have a huge listener base. I hope some uninformed listeners caught on. CNN aired a show yesterday where soldiers that returned home were interviewed. The soldiers spoke of progress and said the media has got it all wrong. They said the soldiers over there are flabbergasted every time they see American media coverage. It is VERY rare for CNN to air anything that speaks of progress in Iraq. Could this be a shift? I hope so. So many people that are anti-Bush and anti-war are simply uninformed and they rely on the media for news. Some don't even tune in to the news and get their information from Hollywood, which is even worse. Kudos for JohnBoy & Billy. They set up a message board at their website (BigShow.COM) where we can send messages to the troops. I plan on doing that and also express my appriciation for them telling the truth. I just wanted to see if anyone caught the show.

A message from the troops to Howard Dean, John Kerry, "Ted the swimmer Kennedy", et al:
Did you realize Teddy K has never even visited the scene in Iraq? Has Howard Dean been there? Pelosi?

It's pretty pathetic when one has to trumpet the support of JohnBoy & Billy.

You got a problem with JB&B Dr. warchild?
Or are you just looking for a confrontation?
If so then, age quod agis.

BTW, I called you Dr. because I am sure you will remind us all before it is over with.

JB & B set new standards for lowbrowosity...or is that lowbrowness...

And I'm a person who can occasionally stand Howard Stern and am a Mystie, so I know from lowbrowwhatever...

Oh, and while the braindead are listening to JB & B on commercial radio, I just got a new car with a killer stereo system.

Rush sounds very, very good on the way to class...

Nah, I think JB&B are sticking with what has worked for them. The lowbrow comedy has a following and they stand out because of it. They don't cater to intellectuals. They actually base their act on the fact that they are lowbrow. Kind of like Jeff Foxworthy.
I can stand Howard Stern myself. I don't particularly care to listen to him. If it is lewdness you want, the Internet is a vast cornucopia of filth that makes Howard Stern look like Mother Teresa.

Seriously, I have nothing against JB & B. It's just not my cup of tea. And Howard Stern used to be funnier, but tens of millions of dollars of income will erode a comedian's willingness to put an effort into comedy, if you know what I mean.

Good you don't have a problem with JB&B.
I listen to JB&B on the way to WORK because they are funny and they play Rush. I tried listening this morning but someone mentioned a Pythagorean theorem last night and I get can't get it out of my head.

Yes, I drive to CLASS, and spend 50 hours a week on campus, WORKING, as I have all my life. It's just that I gave up the corporate grind when I got my DOCTORATE, and now enjoy my WORK.

And, yes, I'm just KIDDING WITH YOU.

Ehhh...I never tell where I got my PhD, I just make fun of the amount of time it took me to finish it.

BUUTTTT...I received mine from either UNCCH or Duke. And it's where I'm teaching, now. And the school has several famous military historians, two of whom were my dissertation advisors.

My mother barely made it through tenth grade, and was publishing professionally from her twenties. My daddy got his degree in his late fifties.

We're all heavy readers and love to learn.
