Police: Two men charged in brawl in which deer leg was used as weapon

The Associated Press

ALLENTOWN -- Two men, including a 19-year-old accused of brandishing the leg of a deer, were charged in a brawl at the former Troxell Middle School, police said.

South Whitehall police Sgt. Tom Gersbach said the charges probably were among the last stemming from a fight involving 35 to 40 people that erupted shortly before midnight on Oct. 1 after several weeks of disputes among Parkland High School students.

Chaz F. Buzinski, of South Whitehall Township, who police said brought the deer leg to the fight, was charged with felony conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit simple assault and disorderly conduct, police said. A preliminary hearing was scheduled Tuesday.

Police said Robert T. Vreeland Jr., 19, of Lansdale, was charged with simple assault, criminal conspiracy and disorderly conduct, for allegedly punching another man in the face. Seven juveniles were charged in mid-October.

Where I live, the local sheriff got beat in the head with a prosthesis and his gun stolen.

Not much in common with the topic at hand, but it made me laugh in the same way.

Is there a specific law against brandishing a deer leg? I think I see a loophole here.

I think I should rather like to be accused of brandishing the leg of a deer at some point in my life. It seems a rather dashing thing to brandish a deer leg.....

Deer legs don't kill people, etc.

I wonder if he named it BAM-bi?

What if you brandish a chicken leg (or just a tasty drumstick), would you be held to the same offense?

Crap, Born in Pa., live in Georgia. Does that make me twice as likely of pulling off a redneck stunt like this? I have done lesser ones, not nearly as newsworthy!!!

I think chicken legs are legal in most states if the brandishee can prove that he is holding it in loco parentis.

Depending on the size of the deer, the leg could be one h@ll of a weapon.....man I could look like Conan swinging my deer leg, clearing out rows of rowdy rednecks......
