First pics of the French face transplant lady:

I saw her on TV this evening and her hips did look smaller. Perhaps Chelsea recommended her p.s.
AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!
If there is a rejection problem, you don't want her to lose her whole face. You don't want to have any problem connecting nerves and muscles around eyelids. The scars are likely to be surprisingly minimal with proper shaping according to the underlying pull of the skin, and whatever are the latest bandaging techniques during healing.
what a freaking HAG!
I think this is wonderful - the fact that there's an "ethical" problem with this is scary.
I hope modern medicine can perfect this problem and SOON!
So many burn vicitms' lives could be changed.
"Poor girl had serious trauma to her face."
I've been out of the loop on this one. Could you tell me briefly what happened to her?
When is Nancy Pelosi going to sign up for this? She's already had everything else done.
Wasn't she supposed to have really bad scarring from a dog attack or was that someone else? Is the first picture the *before* shot? It doesn't look like she's got that bad of a problem even though the picture is blurry. I don't get it.
is that Chelsea Clinton?
I agree. The alternative choice of not doing anything is horrific for a young person. Let's hope she does ok, at least she has a chance.
From the article, it says she has movement.
I do not understand the need to criticize the victim.
"she was able to open and stretch her mouth with those facial muscles that had remained intact."
That's great. However, I'm still not clear on whether the muscles referred to are the woman's own that remained from before her injury and were outside the damaged area, or muscles within the transplant itself, which would require hooking up nerves between the woman and the transplanted tissue. Either way, it's a big step forward.
I agree completely. When I first heard of this I expected it to look horrendous. For something this complex the results so far look staggering.
This may give a great deal of hope to those who have suffered serious facial injuries, it does sound a little gruesome but the quality of life changes for this woman will be profound. My understanding is that her injuries were so severe that she could not even eat properly..
Kudos to the medical team, this is extraordinary !
Dog attack. Her own dog, I heard; don't know if it was a "Breed of Peace" or not.
I hope it works out for her.
At least Hillary could go through a medical procedure to replace the bolts on the sides of her neck,...for the common good.
Sigh,..you are correct. Hillary is God's gift to man. He chastises those whom He loves.
