G-Men have had two of the toughest losses in their history the last three weeks. I didn't think anything could be more painful than the Viking one, but this one topped it.

I would not want to be the Giants' next opponent, that's for sure.

They're gonna be hot... the way I like it.

Thought you might be interested to see the latest from the NFL regarding the Giant TD's:

The NFL said touchdown catches made by Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer shouldn't have been ruled completions.

When one takes the 15 points wrongly awarded the Giants according to the NFL it's not nearly such a close game.

The overwhelming post-game consensus is that the Giants looked to be the far superior team. The 16 penalties (the most the Giants have committed in one game since 1949) killed them, as did an unusually bad day for a good kicker. NY would probably win 7 or 8 out of every 10 games they play against Sea.

Game stats:

First downs: NY 25, Sea 17

Rushing yards: NY 166, Sea 127

Passing yards: NY 324, Sea 228

Time of possession: NY 39:21, Sea 32:54

They'll probably meet up again in the playoffs, and the better will win this time if they do.

I'm sure the consensus of Giants fans is that they looked to be far superior...one might consider that a homer perspective. Truth be told, they did look good, just not far better as you claim.

The 16 penalties (the most the Giants have committed in one game since 1949) killed them, as did an unusually bad day for a good kicker.

The Seahawks awarded a gameball to the fans that were responsible for many of those false start penalties. Noise at an away game is part of the NFL...the Giants will have to learn to deal with it better...but they're still a young team. (at least that's my perception).

NY would probably win 7 or 8 out of every 10 games they play against Sea.

Highly unlikely...unless the referees continue to make bad rulings as the NFL admitted they'd done for both of the Giants TD's. Take those away and replace them with field goals and it doesn't get near overtime...and that's assuming the kicker makes the field goals. I will let you in on something...the Seahawks did not play near their best game. Partly that was attributable to the solid D-line the Giants have...partly they played under their ability. Not sure how it'd work out over 10 games...really, it's just a guess on either of our parts. Game stats: First downs: NY 25, Sea 17 Rushing yards: NY 166, Sea 127 Passing yards: NY 324, Sea 228 Time of possession: NY 39:21, Sea 32:54

Only game stats that matter are points. But if you remove the overtime period that shouldn't have been required had the game been called correctly the stats change quite a bit. Tiki had one run for 49 yards by itself in the OT.

They'll probably meet up again in the playoffs, and the better will win this time if they do.

There is a good chance of that. Best of luck vs the Cowboys...I really don't like those guys, hope you do well.

Watching MNF now, and the Steelers are looking like they're trying to catch the Giants in the false-starts category. I despise indoor stadiums and astroturf. ....although the turf in Indy looks to be of a superior synthetic variety.

I'm a Seahawks fan too (they're my second favorite team), and have watched most of their games this year. Let's just hope they can hang on and grab the home field throughout the playoffs (the Giants don't have much of a chance to do that, I'm afraid).

If the 'Boys win next week they will have essentially wrapped up the NFC East, and the G-Men will be fighting for a WC spot from then on...

Same here, I'm almost surprised they haven't mentioned it in connection to the Giants-Hawks game.

I'm glad we built the new Seahawk stadium...although it means they'll never put a superbowl here because the NFL doesn't believe fans will brave potential rain or even snow. (doesn't snow here all that much...and the stadium can't be more than about 50 feet above sea level...that along with the way the wind circles had something to do with your kicker's misses btw).

Cool...and yup, there is a real air of something different going on here. In the past they would lose like 100% of these sorts of games..or the one against the Cowboys where we won in the last 5 seconds.

If the 'Boys win next week they will have essentially wrapped up the NFC East, and the G-Men will be fighting for a WC spot from then on...

I'll pull for your Giants next week...can't let the Cowboys win it! Seahawks on MNF next week vs Philly. Good chatting with you man.

Hindsight is 20/20; the referees looked at each play and called it as they saw it. If the NFL could revoke victories after the end of the contest, imagine how radically different things would've been in the past.

Oh well. A loss is a loss, close as it was.

You're absolutely right, they can't go and reverse games...it's a good thing the Seahawks won. Can you imagine the screams if the Seahawks end up one win short of homefield advantage at the end of the year or something of that sort?

Oh well. A loss is a loss, close as it was.

Indeed...and it was an entertaining game...I think most could agree on that. Good luck with the 'Boys...beat them guys!

I'm surprised the NFL chose to comment on those catches. Don't they normally stay quiet, unless it's a major game and the call was controversial?

I was surprised as well...and yes, they don't normally make it public, they normally just apologize to the team. I thought it might make it easier for those grousing about what if's related to the kicker missing his 3 field goals because now it's just as easy to include the what if the refs had made those calls correctly...then the kicker wouldn't have had the chance to win it.
