The NFL said touchdown catches made by Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer shouldn't have been ruled completions. I'm surprised the NFL chose to comment on those catches. Don't they normally stay quiet, unless it's a major game and the call was controversial?

I was surprised as well...and yes, they don't normally make it public, they normally just apologize to the team. I thought it might make it easier for those grousing about what if's related to the kicker missing his 3 field goals because now it's just as easy to include the what if the refs had made those calls correctly...then the kicker wouldn't have had the chance to win it.
