I have to ask. Have any of you ever seen CNN International ?? Not long ago, I was traveling and saw CNN International and was absolutely shocked at the incredible anti-American stance on ever issue. It totally blew my mind. It is no wonder a lot of the world does not like us.
It is the worst. Much worse than Al Jazera.
I have not seen it, but it does not surprise me. The only thing that moderates their stance (a little) on regular CNN is market pressure/competition. In Europe it is very "in vogue" to bash the US, so they have no motivation not to do it.
Where were you exactly when you were watching CNN International? The reason I ask is that the degree of leftism of the network differs around the world.
I agree. It is at least as bad as Al Jezeera ~~
Yup. We are Satan. It's bad.
I was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.
Is it anything like the Comintern?
That's true. Last time I was in Asia I didn't find it to be so terrible. But I didn't watch it at all while in Germany this summer.
I saw it while in Jamaica a while back. It compared favorably to whatever else was on the tube at the time.
I've seen it and it's worse than Al Jazeera. Deployed military personnel usually get subjected to this garbage because TVs in common areas are almost always tuned to news and this is one of the only available channels.
I always say the only thing I hate about going on a cruise is that the only source of news is CNN International. On the last cruise they also had the BBC news. They are both
anti-American. Both were "celebrating" the 2000th US soldier killed in Iraq and the Libby indictment.
It's been a few years. I wouldn't doubt the anti-US/Bush stance.
We have got to sent CNN millions of e-mails hammering them. It may make a difference, but then again, those of us who look at this website are right wing wackos, I forgot !!
Never give up !!!!
Thing to remember: We don't care what others think of us...
Believe it or not, some of the most unbiased coverage of news in the Middle East comes from Bahraini state television. It is the only news I have ever watched anywhere that simply reports all the facts. In many cases, they just show raw video with no narration at all. What a concept. CNN International is the worst, with BBC running a close second. Al Jazera is bad, but tends to be a little over the top with some of its coverage and comes across (even to Arabs) as less credible.
Is it as bad as CBS, NBC, PBS, The WAPO, NY Times, Hollywood, Rob Reiner, Sean Penn, Michael Moore, Cinnndeeey Sheehan, Medea Benjamin, Teddy, Murtha, Waters, Pelosi, Boxer, Chucky, Ho Dean, Jesse, Sharpton, Chomsky, Babs, Robbins, Sarandon, et al?
Then I'd start to get worried.
Ever since Direct TV bought SKY, CNN and BBC are the only English-speaking news we get here in Chile and Argentina. The wife and I can barely stomach CNN international...it is horrible.
I had to laugh this morning, CNN-i was doing a hit piece on General Pinochet being placed on house arrest and they were reporting on the anti-Pinochet protesters in front of his house...when they flashed a crowd scene all the people had "Pinochet-Sí" signs and were supporters. LOL!! I now refer to CNN as Clueless News Network.
It is close !!
