For those not familiar with F@H -> some diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer and even "mad cow" disease are believed to be linked to protein (mis)folding.
A scientist team at Stanford University studies this phenomenon to try and find a cure to these diseases. Due to the enourmous amount of computing power needed, they designed a software (folding@home) which enables people to donate unused power from their computer to the project.

if you'd like to be added to the F@H ping list, please let me know.

So we do have a team now? Cool. What do I do to get on it? I've already got the software installed.

If you see the Team Number 47733 under your donator username, you're part of the FreeRepublic Team.
If not, right click anywhere on the Folding@Home's page and select "Configure" and enter 47733 in the Team Number box.

Well, they may fold, but do they wash windows? ;~ )

Got to bump us up. 15,000 is much too low for the might of FR!

Gotcha. Oh, is there any way to add work already done to the team score? Is it added automatically, or is the score lost to the individual before a team was configured?

no, when you change teams, old points stay with the previous teams

HOLY COW! I've just been given the Work Unit from Hell!!! It takes three days per page, and five hundred pages. It's due to be completed in SEPTEMBER, 2010.
Anybody know what's up here? Do you lose everything if you quit before it finishes the unit? Because, like, I will be astonished if this machine is still running in five years, let alone without a reboot.

We need a plan to grow the team. Anyone want to pitch an idea? Do we have a ping list, at least?
