I am asking my students to boycott your event. I am also going to ask others to boycott it. Your literature and signs in the entrance lobby look like fascist propaganda and is extremely offensive. Your main poster "Communism killed 100,000,000" is not only untrue, but ignores the fact that CAPITALISM has killed many more and the evidence for that can be seen in the daily newspapers. The U.S. government can fly to dominate the people of Iraq in 12 hours, yet it took them five days to assist the people devastated by hurricane Katrina. Racism and profits was key to their priorities. Exxon, by the way, made $9 Billion in profits this last quarter--their highest profit margin ever. Thanks to the students of WCCC and other poor and working class people who are recruited to fight and die for EXXON and other corporations who earning mega profits from their imperialist plunders. If you want to count the number of deaths based on political systems, you can begin with the more than a million children who have died in Iraq from U.S.-imposed sanctions and war. Or the million African American people who died from lack of access to healthcare in the US over the last 10 years.
I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like your won't dare show their face on a college campus. Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs--such freedom fighters can be counted throughout American history and they certainly will be counted again
They've moved the post to chat.See also THIS thread:I guess he gets the benefit of the doubt.
It's that time again, posting refresher course.

We've had many new folks join up recently. Welcome aboard, this thread is a gentle reminder of some basic posting guidelines. (And for some of you old timers as well) Please read the follow, and ask any questions. We will all try to help you out. Anyone who has a link that might be useful, feel free to post it.
SEARCH
If it's a breaking news topic, check breaking news first, it's probably already posted. Don't try to be the first one with the story, you've already been beaten by about eight threads.
To avoid duplicate posts, please search before posting. Use the published article title to prevent duplicates. The best method to search is to pick a key word or two from the title. If the article you are posting is, "Dan Rather Memo", start with 'Memo' for the key word. If it is a hot topic, you might want to use two or more keywords, in this case, try 'memo rather'. For an effective search, select 'match all words' and select 'order by post time'.
Vanities and General Interest.
All non-sourced non-news threads are posted here. All fluff stories are posted here. We are a political forum, not a pit bull, SUV or porno site. Keep your threads to a political nature. There are of course exceptions, but post those to the General/Chat forum. This doesnt mean your one thought is a thread by itself, and your vanities should be substantial to be considered a news forum thread. Others will be moved to the various forums. Lately, we have been seeing articles posted that should be comments made on the main article. Your comment/vanity article will be pulled or moved to General/Chat. Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic...CLICK HERE for the rest of that thread
Where was this piece of garbage when Saddam was brutalizing his own people, when his son was raping women and girls in front of their husbands and fathers, when he was gassing the kurds, when he was torturing and killing people who said anything against him, when he was invading Kuwait, when he was invading Iran, when he was taking food out of the mouths of his people so he could build palaces under the oil for food program? This a-hole needs to be fired.
I am sorry I upset so many people, that was not my intention. I am new at this and meant to say that. I thought I did in fact say that. When I first "posted" what I wanted to say I was asked for the "Thread" and I thought that meant a portion of what I had been reading. I also thought what I typed would be just added to that article. I am not trying to disrupt anyone. I just wanted to communicate my observation. I thought it was ironic that an English teacher would use spelling and grammar like that. Sorry, I will not bug you folks anymore. Goodbye.

Sorry, I will not bug you folks anymore. Goodbye.I understand.
Please DON'T GO, though!Years from now you will enjoy a good laugh at the "trial by fire" that you experienced here with your ill-fated FIRST POST.
Posting (and LURKING) here on Free Republic is FAR too important to allow a few harsh words from a handful of misguided "old timers" to discourage you. :o)
Okay; thank you for your kindness.
:o)
Sorry for jumping at you earlier; we Freepers tend to be testy with posts that even remotely smell like flamebait. False alarm people; no fire.
Anyhow, let me welcome you to Free Republic. May you go on to discuss and debate.

Top blogs often too one-sided
[Free Republic and Drudge dwarf all others but are unfair]

There's been a lot of excitement about blogs since they broke into public consciousness during the 2004 election. They are now growing at an astronomical rate. The blog search engine Technorati now tracks almost 20 million of them, and various estimates of the number of blog users range from 32 million to 50 million Americans.
Blogophiles see blogs as a new way for citizens to express themselves and, especially among the political bloggers, a new way for citizens to talk back to the "MSM" -- the mainstream media. According to Mike Godwin, legal director of a First Amendment advocacy group called Public Knowledge, "A.J. Liebling famously commented that freedom of the press belongs to those who own one. Well, we all own one now."
But in all the excitement and hype, it's easy to overlook the fact that in some ways political blogs are not so different from or even separate from the MSM they often love to hate.
One similarity is found in emerging patterns of Web traffic. Blog abundance creates a paradox: Given more information choices than ever, most people economize, trying to find efficient ways to tame the information tide. So most regular users rely on a few blogs for most of their information. That's one reason why a handful of political blogs gets the lion's share of traffic. A recent study of 2 million Internet users found that the top four blog "hosts," such as blogspot.com, are visited by more than 5 million visitors per quarter. Unique visitors to the Drudge Report and the conservative blog freerepublic.com number 2 million to 3 million per quarter, twice as many as their nearest competitors and dwarfing countless smaller blogs...

Welcome to FR posting! Most of us "lurk" for years before trying a post....I think you're probably a good guy too....stick around!
BTW...Welcome to the FR!
We have this word in the english language
Sarcasm
n : witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody's face but their own"--Johathan Swift [syn: irony, satire, caustic remark]
BTTT
The biggest offender (of all) throwing "fire bombs" was not an "old timer", my friend.
Check their "Born on Date".
Makes me wonder about the big mouth's angle, y'know?
...motive-motive-motive. ;^)
Check my tag line.
This thread doesn't make any sense; I read the original thread.
Since he corrected the spelling errors, how are we to see what the "good" professor mispelled (or is it misspelt)?
"Indedxing" ??? Where's your spellchecker? ;)
:o)
And if you know this Daly character, tell him to move out of the US. He would do us all a great service by leaving the country.
Let me make a suggestion - the next time you decide to reprint some crazed moonbat's rantings to generate a discussion, make sure you give said moonbat it's proper credit. Otherwise people will assume those are your views. Your stay here will be much more pleasant if you follow this advice.
