FARIBAULT, Minn. -- You know those hooks in bathroom stalls?
They're meant for coats, not guns.
Authorities in Faribault, Minn., report a man accidentally shot in himself in the bathroom at a gun show.
Police Sgt. Richard Larson said the man suffered a hand wound as he was taking his gun off the hook in a bathroom stall.
The 59-year-old victim was treated and released from a local hospital Sunday.
The gun show took place at the National Guard Armory.

Could have been much worse...
Darwin award, almost.
And these are supposed to be the people who know how to handle weapons.........
I didn't think you could carry a loaded weapon to a gun show.
What a jackass.
"I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six". ;o)
Glock owners can appreciate this......
Word on the street is that is was a Glock in a .45 ACP.
When the moron went to un-hook the gun from the hook, it went off, injuring his hand, he panics, keeps trying to grab the gun as it continues to cock and reload up and down against the hook, putting an aditional 4 rounds through the roof.
My husband told me a few years ago that a gun was fired by accident in a gun show in Houston. He said he has never heard that many people get that quiet that quick. You could have heard a pin drop in that huge place. LOL
OOPS. I wonder if due to his injuries this will be "overlooked". Nah.
Minnesota Weapons Collectors shows prohibit loaded guns at their shows. Except for security.
This was NOT a MWC show.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd think that a gun show would be about the last place on Earth where a person would need a loaded gun.
How come he didn't have the safety on? /sarc
Myself I am a very big believer in punishing those who violate the law (discharge of a weapon in a dangerous manner) rather than punishing us all for the unlawful or stupid actions of a few.
Parking lot is OK.
You step up to the door, unload, buy your ticket and enter.
Leave the show.
Load.
Glock: goes off every time, even when you least expect it!

Was not advocating 'a law'. I've been to a few gun shows and have never been worried about bad guys storming the place. In my experience, there is plenty of 'security'...guys just arriving w/ guns to trade, guys leaving with a new purchase, guys outside catching a smoke and looking over their new purchase. And a few gals, too, for that matter. And I've noted that along with guns for sale/ trade, there is ammo also. Never struck me as the sort of place where bad guys would be lurking, that's all.
An idiot with a revolver would have done the same thing yet people tout revolvers for inexperienced new gun owners.
Makes an intelligent Glock owner go hmmmmmmmmmm?
Plus, I have NEVER been to a gun show where one could pack loaded heat. Insurance issue caused by chumps like this.
If this indeed even happened.
He's lucky for sure. What kind of idiot hangs their gun on a hook?
