Not until you quit acting like the devil. Lies, distortions, diversions, now even false pretenses. Everything but the truth from you, I am right proud to constantly expose it.

Sigh... Do you understand set/subset/superset? And does your Christian walk really depend on others? Or is it ok to act in a sinful manner because you believe others do?

I understand you and your boys are still trying to claim all Windows 2000 support ended, which is a bold faced lie. And I don't listen to liars for spiritial advice.

Because it's there. (The same reason one would run IE under WINE!)

Here's what it looks like when your product goes EOL. Red Hat Linux 9 died on 4-30-2004.

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rh9-errata.html

How old was it then? Just a couple years, if I remember. So you want to claim Windows did the same, now, even when they are still providing patches, for 5 MORE years. Obviously, you're suffering from a delerious level of hypocrisy.

The proper spelling is 'delirious' not 'delerious'..

Thanks. Not a word I normally have to deal with, except when I come on here. At least the point was made, then.

Back for another round of trolling, are we?

At least have the courtesy to not be dull and repetitive this time around, eh?

You are certainly exposing something... I don't think it was what you intended, though.

Another bogus lie from the open sourcers. All support for Windows 2000 has not ended, despite your desperate claims that it has. Microsoft still realeases security patches for it and will continue for another 5 years.

Well, Oh Font of Wisdom, perhaps you should tell Microsoft.

They say that support for Windows 2000 ended March 31, 2005

But who are we gonna believe, you or our lyin' eyes?

LOL, you provide some bogus link. FYI "System Builder License Availability end dates" has nothing to do with end of support. End of support is like what Red Hat did to Red Hat Linux versions 7,8, and 9. They cut you off at the knees, and never gave you another patch after just a couple years. That's EOL, since you're confused.

As opposed to you providing absolutely no links at all. Do note that the link was found by going to www.microsoft.com and entering "Windows End of Life" into the search window. As opposed to you doing absolutely nothing except spewing your useless bile.

End of support is like what Red Hat did to Red Hat Linux versions 7,8, and 9.

Yes, because I can't get the source code and support RH9 myself or pay someone else to do it. Oh, wait....

They cut you off at the knees, and never gave you another patch after just a couple years.

Funny, I know lots of places that are still running RH9 with current kernel, current webserver, current mailserver, etc. I even know of a place that's running RH7.2 as their primary enterprise backup engine. Running 2.4.23, the most recent 2.4 kernel.

That's EOL, since you're confused.

It appears that there is EOL and EOL. With Winders, once it's EOL, you can't buy it and you can't get support, period. With Linux, even long after it's no longer "supported" I can still get support, I can still update it and I can even download and install an ancient version should I wish to.

Let's have a contest. I'll download a copy of RedHat 6.2 from RedHat and you come up with a new copy of Windows 3.11. What do ya say?

BTW, a lot more digging came up with this:

Windows 2000 Transitions to Extended Support June 30, 2005 which states that Mainstream support (from Microsoft and Microsoft only) has ended and that some support, including security updates (and only Microsoft gets to decide what a "security" update is) will continue.

So, if IIS on Win2K suddenly starts crashing and Microsoft decides that it's not a "security" issue, you're screwed. You can't get support for love nor money.

Oh and this page was posted right after Microsoft announced that SP5 for W2K was being cancelled. They'd been working on it for a year, putting together bugfixes, and then decided that it wasn't worth it to provide those bugfixes to their customers.

And also note that even though Microsoft had the same policy in place for NT4, when the Nachi worm came out Microsoft decided that a rapidly spreading infectious worm wasn't a security problem and left NT4 users on their "Extended Support phase" out in the cold.

Don't know why I'm wasting my time on you, troll, but...

".. this thread has no real value whatsover, and never should have even been created."

Yet here you are, on this very thread, arguing the points diligently, presumably so you can do your little knuckle-dragging, chest pounding routine. So, what you say is overshadowed by what you do. This thread is "worthless", yet here you are. Here's a revelation...this is a "forum" open to pretty much anyone who registers; one, I might add, which you take WAY too seriously. If it is truly a waste of time, then shut up and leave. I doubt you will, though.

While all here would agree that FR is a good thing, you sometimes can have too much of a good thing. Take some time off. Go for a walk. Smell the flowers. Talk to real people. It'll do you good.

Besides, we all know very well that threads like this get under your skin. I'm even beginning to suspect that some post these messages for that very reason, and perhaps seeing you coming here and babbling about spelling errors and the Communists and foreign clones and blah blah blah is amusing to them. It certainly is to me. I know I'm not in the minority in this sentiment, either.

In reality, it seems you've worked hard to become the only outsider on an inside joke. Congratulations.

"It is amazing how insulting these open source flamers can be, calling me all those ridiculous names like brass buzzard, tarnished turkey etc etc just because I don't let them constantly mislead others like they are always trying."

Are you whining? Because it certainly sounds like you're whining. You know, you don't have a free pass to be a jerk, and when you are, people are going to be insulting. And you deserve whatever you've gotten. I've personally watched N3WB13 make an effort toward civility with you, and it actually seems to rile you up more! And then, it still seems to surprise and trouble you that people are actually mean to you!

You expect civility from everyone else, yet reserve the right to make your feeble points by calling attention to spelling and grammar errors, accusing people of lying, calling them idiots, and whining about the fact that people insult you. And when you're called on it, your defense is that the other person did it first!

Seriously, how old are you?

And as for misleading people, you have personally tried to tell ME about Linux, and have tried to mislead others into believing things about Linux that weren't true. Pot, kettle.

"despite the fact this is a political site and not technical one to begin with."

You wouldn't know it from your postings. Someone did a search for your forum posts and found that the vast majority of them were technical in nature, and in fact, you posted very little on any other subject! Now, you come in like a dictator and insist that this isn't a technical forum? Ha! That's ALL you talk about, GE! Do a member search on yourself and see!

Nevertheless, as I have said before, your posts are fascinating to read, in much the same way as talking to a three-year-old about his perceptions of reality. Keep 'em coming, GE.

P.S. - I fully expect you to pick one line out of this (possibly out of context) respond to it and ignore the rest. :)

Just look at the lies, a near endless supply. Here's the link I gave above that shows what a real EOL looks like, even though you said I didn't:

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rh9-errata.html

Here's where you can buy Win2K still, even though you say you can't:

http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=274395

Here's the number you can call if you need support on IIS 5, even though you lied and said you couldn't:

http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?ln=en-us&prid=98927&gprid=241524

Or of course you can use any of their free online services, and don't even have to register like you do on Red Hat:

http://support.microsoft.com/win2000

Why do you feel so compelled to constantly lie?
