The standings prove my point. Look at the corrolation between wins and earnings. You do, however, have to take into account new drivers vs. veterns. For example, JJ's 4 wins and relative earnings, compared to Carl Edwards 4 wins. Also keep in mind that Jeff Gordon won the Daytona 500. That brings with it a big chunk of change.

Heck if you want to do the same correlation between Gordon and Edwards you have an even more staggering amount its almost a $2 million dollar difference!($1,965,450) They tied in wins and Edwards beat him in top 5's and top 10's.... they also tied for poles
