This forum is to help us get through the offseason by posting news, silly season rumors and anything else devoted to Nascar.

I believe this is a closed session........
JUNIOR AND LABONTE LAYING RUBBER AT TMS
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet) and Bobby Labonte (No. 43 Cheerios Dodge) will participate in a Goodyear Tire test session on Tuesday, Jan. 24 and Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Texas Motor Speedway. With the new NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series testing rules, it will be one of the rare times that Cup drivers will be testing at The Great American Speedway the entire year. Both drivers will be available to the media only during the Tuesday lunch break period, beginning at noon. Earnhardt Jr.s first career NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series wins have come at Texas Motor Speedway, and he has posted six top-10 finishes in seven career Cup starts. Labonte, the 2000 series champion who moved from Joe Gibbs Racing to Petty Enterprises this season, has four top-10 showings in his 10 career starts, and has started on the pole twice (2003, 04).
Just curious.
How much do you think a "closed session" cost anyway.. or is it on the house of the facility?
almost time to rev the engines up and Go Racin'!
The Super Bowl should be a good filler material 'til that happens.
Great games yesterday!
Saw a ad today with DW with the new Camry being unwrapped in the back ground. Every time he named a driver it was drowned out by the roar of the engine.
OK, ya had to see...
Tomorrow will start the fourth day of a drought in the Great North West. Tied the record here with 65 degrees today...
Thanks for the ping!
It's gettin' closer!
That's sounds great! We never got to 60 today. We can deal with the dry, but we need our hot to go with it, this cold just don't make it!
Ugh!! I guess we can complain about it though
"(them Parrotts sure can't stay in one place long)."
It's because they're hotheads and can't control themselves!
Re: Busch..... I think Roush has 6 teams now in Busch. I guess there's no limit there.
This weeks Cheers and Jeers is about Dale. Kleenex is required....here is the last paragraph. I can't believe it's been five years!
and finally,
CHEERS for comfort found in one place only - faith that God works everything for the good of those who love Him. Yeah, you've heard it before, but never is it more important to believe than when He does something we just cannot wrap our minds around. We can wonder why, but we cannot understand His ways. We can only trust that it will all be made clear to us some day. "Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed." Lap 199, February 18th, 2001 was God's limit for Dale Earnhardt.

Let's see; there's the #60 with Backflipper that's full-time, #06 with Kleuver full-time, #50 with O'Quinn full-time, the #6 (ex-#9) with Mark Martin part-time, #16 (new) with Bifflage part-time and #17 (fully-assumed from Reiser Enterprises last year) with Robot part-time. Guess Jack doesn't need a gong show for a couple years :-)
Oh thank you, that is a beautiful picture.
Double kleenex day!
He was a pretty photogenic guy. I have on my wall, a shot taken from just before driver intros for one of the qualifiers of the '01 Speedweeks, of Dale and Jr. standing next to each other. It was taken by a friend of my sister-in-law, who had infield access that week. When I look at it, the thought always comes to me, "Damn....just a few days after this picture, he was gone....Just damn." I don't have a scanner, or I'd post it. I'll try to get a picture of it with my cheap-o digital camera and post it.
Ok Steve check Jayski when you have time, the Toyota, Kevin Harvick, RCR story. The Kodak one is mind boggling. Kodak takes a year off from sponsoring the #77...it goes away for a year...Penske makes a few bucks on the sale of it's points...Kevin has one year left on his contract with RCR...he goes to Penske in 2007 in the reborn 77 (his current truck # since he gave the #6 to Mark)...Penske goes to Toyota in 2007...and Kurt Busch ends up looking like a very smart man.
