I'm not sure if we knew this or not, I've lost track.
Roy McCauley, who won six races with Ryan Newman in the Busch Series in 2005, is expected to serve as crew chief for Kurt Busch on the No. 2 car.
Also, just read what was supposed to be a Q&A about ESPN coverage where they said no side by side coverage during commercials because of the cost of televising Nascar. :( Rumor, though that they may cover last 30 minutes without commercials. I'm still trying to verify the info.

More on 2007 TV coverage....
Q: Will ESPN bring the "side-by-side" coverage used in IRL telecasts to NASCAR so we don't miss any action while in commercial?
A: Probably not. Although it may be tried during some ancillary programming, like practice and qualifying, it's unlikely since advertisers pay much more for their commercials to air during NASCAR race telecasts, with their large audiences, than the IRL. However plans to run the last 30 or 40 minutes of the telecast commercial-free have been mentioned.
Q: Will the NEXTEL Cup schedule change by 2007 with races and markets switched at all?
A: That is a distinct possibility. More major markets like Los Angeles and Las Vegas, plus a better mix of tracks, rather than the mostly 1.5-mile layouts that populate the "Chase" portion of the schedule now, could be put into the mix.
Q: What about more prime time races? Will there be more?
A: Absolutely. Prime time races run at night bring larger audiences, higher ratings and more advertising revenue. Look for more late Sunday afternoon starts that wind up in prime time during the "Chase," and lights at places like Dover, Chicagoland and even Talladega.

It's about to be ugly here. Rain coming up from the south and cold coming down from the north. Ugly, ugly, ugly!
Got tickets today for TMS April race. Whenever detox is too bad, I can take out the tickets and dream. ;)

I just saw that on Fox, ya'll got the taco express coming up from the southwest and the cold front still sitting there.
It's cold and windy here tonight. Good night to stay inside.
Isn't it nice to open that envelope and feast your eyes on those tickets? I would really like to go to a different track next year. Talladega maybe.

VERY good night to stay inside.
The tickets have a sparkly red band, Christmas?, on the bottom. Maybe I'll hang them on the tree.
I'm not a major fan of Talladega, restricted anyway. Would love to see them run wide open!

What a beautiful morning scene..about 6 inches of powder! Crisp 21 degrees and I can't wait to get the blower out.
The IDOT snow plows are really the best, the main roads will be fine but the neighborhood will be a little slow to get out...no worries!

Only 3 here. Not enough to deter the plow drivers in my little burb, but as usual, the city of Milwaukee did a piss-poor job (make that, they didn't do a job).
The news out of Penske is now official - they've suspended the operations of the #77 team, Roy McCauley will be the crew chief on the #2, and Larry Carter (ex-crew chief on the Blue Deuce) has taken a management role at Penske South.
Per an e-mail from Jayski (yes, I asked him that question), the folding of the #77 is not good news for Morgan-McClure; there will be only 34 guaranteed spots for the first 5 races next year.

And last, a couple quick hits from my local racing columnist,
Dave Kallman, who has more on the #77 folding and its effect on Travis Kvapil -
- Roy Kenseth, promoter at Madison International Speedway, will be bringing his son Matt (2003 Winstion Cup champ) and Tony Stewart (2002 Winston Cup champ/2005 Nextel Cup champ) in for a special late-model event June 27.
- The first shoe from Dodge's virtual-pullout from the Trucks to drop - Jim Smith (owner of the champ #1 driven by Ted Musgrave and the #2 last driven by Mr. Excitement) will be switching to Fords.
