A few weeks ago, I posted "What Are You Reading Right Now?". Got a great cross-section of responses from Freepers. In another month or two, I'll repeat the question. But now, I have another question.
What is favorite CD, album or cassette of all time?
It can be country, blues, 80's-style rock, etc. Anything.
I'll start.
My two favorites are:
"World Falling Down" (1992) by Peter Cetera. Not as sappy as you might think. An album written at a down-time in his life.
"Rebel Yell" (1982) Billy Idol. A great collection of rock songs. Some of his best songs (on this CD) never made the Top 40.
OK, what's your favorite?
The problem I have with Driscoll and any other trumpter is that they always play a few octives higher than necessary. Granted, I know that it is a sign of a good trumpter to hit those high notes but it doesn't make for good music. Sounds like a couple of cats making whoopy.
"My Soul's Been Anchored In The Lord" by St. Olaf choirs.
THE DIXIE CHICKS???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????
It is difficult to pick an all-time favorite, because it changes so often for me!
All-time fav for today would probably be Peter Gabriel's third solo album, commonly referred to as "Melt".
Favorite CD of the DAY (and the past few months) is Petra Hayden's amazing acapella recreation of the Who's classic "Sellout", appropriately titled "Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out". This thing still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end after hundreds of listens.
Two favorites: "Straphangin'" by the Brecker Brothers and "Soul Vaccination Live" by Tower Of Power
Chunga's Revenge - Frank Zappa (1970)
Nothing's Shocking - Jane's Addiction (1988)
Are you saying that because of their political stance or because they are female?

My wife wants to see it. I'm too big of a Cash fan to want to see a hollywood liberal play the man in black. I may acquiesce though. Reese is a hottie.
I HATE billy Idol. LOL
Easy....
Omar Faruk Tekbelik's Dance to Eternity
Alabina's Alabina
Natasha Atlas' Halim
Hossam Ramsy's Tabla Solo's
And right now my "new" favorite is Yara's Twassa Feya
And no, I don't listen to 'regular' music much.
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Neal Morse - ?
That's the one with "Games Without Frontiers," right? That's my second fave of his, behind "Security" (and 'Shock the Monkey' is far from the best song on that one)
Just saw it last night with the wifeling. It was not a bad movie, but after seeing "Ray", nothing is likely to compare for a VERY long time. "Walk The Line" just isn't in the same league.
Reese deserves an Oscar for her performance, IMHO. She was absolutely incredible.
