The thing is, Bush almost never fumbles or does a bonehead move like running without protection on blocking.
That was NOT a typical USC play.
I think that hurt his Heisman performance tonight.
He made great advancements, and then that brainless fumble cost him any chance he had to make ground up tonight IMO.

He had so many other great plays tonight that the fumble wont matter. He had a Heisman night if ever there was one.

The defense made interceptions, but they have allowed a tremendous amount of scoring by other teams all season. That isn't a sign of a great defense.
Good think the USC offense can get 50 points up there, because the defense regularly allows over 30 against USC.

USC will wear UCLA down quick.
UCLA has a great kicker, so USC will not have Bush getting the ball back past the 20 as much as with other teams.

Well sure. But the defense scored a touchdown tonight also so they may suck overall but they get there due for making key plays. They are going to be in an even tougher fight against Texas though, what a game that is going to be.

UCLA was willing to sit on their ass for the 3 weeks prior to the game against SC.
SC could have sat on their laurels, but elected to allow a tough Fresno St. team come into their house and settle an issue on the field.
UCLA is a fraud, reeks of cowardice, while dressed in a pathetic looking baby blue.
To: aft_lizard
I give them credit for doing what they did with the interceptions, but as I said, they have been porous as a defense against most other teams.
The scoring numbers against USC has been IMO very high.

But how many time have there been upsets in the USC-UCLA rivalry?
To: A CA Guy
Oh definately. Its hard to win a MNC with a poor defense. But with an offense like theres its still possible. resnos two faults were ball control and they lost coverage of Bush in the second half.
He had 513 total yards. Simply amazing. Those are Ty Detmer passing numbers.

Gee, that is a rough assessment.
I think they have gone a LONG way with the talent they've got this year.
They have been at times able to score quickly against other very good teams and are for sure a much better team than last year.
I think they are a good team, they are just not a great team that should be ranked in the top 10 like they might have been for a while.
They also may be inspired to play USC.
They may play well and get lucky.
In the end, even if USC plays bad I think they will win by at least 10. Could win by 25.

The potential isn't that likely IMO, because every team in the nation has played it's best against USC and they can't be taken off guard by anyone anymore. I think I've seen more good play and different styles against this USC team by other good teams than other recent years.
I think USC is prepared and ready.
UCLA will have flashes, but I don't think they will have anything that will surprise or fool USC.
Sure, I think UCLA will make a couple of flashy TDs among a few TDs. USC's defense lets everybody score.

USC v UCLA.
USC by 2 tds. USC defense, yes defense, is better than UCLAs by far.

SC better get a better defensive plan going. When SC averages almost 50 points a game, is defense really a priority?
SC's only objective now is to win.
Given the target on their back, now, a win is enough.
To: aft_lizard
Fresno's a good team. They've made it to three bowls I just heard in the last three years and won them all.

UCLA lost to an unranked, hack-of-a-team out of AZ by 40+ points.
I'm sure SC is quaking in their cleats.

"From what I have seen, USC is beatable."
But that's the point. Like all teams, they are definitely beatable. But for 33 straight games, they have taken everyone's best shot, everyone's top effort, and came away with the win. And on a night when a really good team with a poised senior quarterback scored 42 on them, they scored 50 and won anyway.
I hope USC fans appreciate how special this run has been. Ask Miami how easy it is to lose a game............today.
To: aft_lizard
Yep, I said if USC plays real poorly, UCLA could get within 10, but my opinion is they are playing mentally tough right now.

Congratulations to Fresno State Bulldogs!
They played a heck of a game and were in it until the very end. If I had any say in the voting, I would move them up a notch or two in the BCS.
How about Fresno vs. Notre Dame in a Bowl Game?

I believe Miami had a 58 game winning streak at home going into tonight's game, at home, against Georgia Tech.
