I was just wondering if any of you watched the CMA Awards last night? IMHO it was AWESOME!
Brooks and Dunn gave a superb performance with there new single *I Believe* Faith Hill and Tim Mc Graw were magnificent in the Duo new hit *Like We Never Loved at All* Dolly Parton and Elton John with the Classic *Imagine*
Carrie Underwood did great singing her new CD Jesus take the Wheel.
Country Music did fantastic!
Now there'd be a great cowboy poem, "Jesus, the Jewish cowboy." Helping to make the cattle Kosher, he's helping the Jewish grocer, He's Jesus the Jewish cowboy.
The point is that I do not know what Lennon truly believed in his heart of hearts, I think that he made a point about *People* constantly fighting in the name of religion, politics, race etc.. NO I really try not to Judge someone's destiny..WHY? because I do know without a doubt I WILL BE JUDGED on my own merits how I judged all other's and I hope Jesus will allow me a SINNER to be part of the new world where there will be no religion and no war...
Not only that, I watched Keith Urban's 2 hour show live Monday night....

Moving the show to NYC gave Country Music far more press coverage....and well worth it. I have bashed AOL as much as anyone...but I hope they do some broadcasts from the CMA Music Fest.
That just might be a good song....
What I know for a fact is that Lennon was a hypocrite of the highest order as evident by his actions. Nearly everything he did in his life was for publicity and/or profit. I only think of him as an example of hypocrisy, nothing more.
So is Jimmy Swaggart and proably the entire human race have some type of hypocrisy thing going on...
John Lennon was over the top in liberalism in his beliefs, HOWEVER he was one of the greatest songwriters of all time and part of one of the Most famous Rock and Roll groups that ever lived...
Fame is not synonomous with quality. Hitler was famous.
I'd love to play more but gotta work.
LOL! So true. The Brad Paisleys, Kenny Chesney's, etc....make me long for George Strait, who was there and looked great! I loved what Big and Rich did (even though they kinda fit in with the Brad Paisley's etc....)
I liked it because you actually heard songs that talked about God and Jesus. Brooks and Dunn's song was awesome!
Holding a country music event in a city that doesn't allow smoking in bars and restaurants is like holding a Neo-Nazi rally in a synagogue.
Maybe we all need to hear agin about what JESUS SAID:
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. [Matthew 22:37-40]
Lord tells us that if we obey the commandment to love our fellowman, men will know that we are true followers of Jesus Christ (see John 13:35). It is also on this commandment that we will be judged of God. We are told in a parable that when we come to be judged of God we will be divided into two groupsthose who loved and served others and those who did not. (See Matthew 25:31-46.) Jesus will say, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40).
Teaching our children and training ourselves to look out for our neighbor's welfare is second only to loving the Lord. If we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, then we must learn in our families to do his work. We must help, forgive, teach, and love his brothers and sisters, for he gave his very life for them, and he loves them even as he loves us.
ALL FOLKS JUST NOT THE ONES WE AGREE WITH....
SMOKING Should be outlawed in every state...
Nice sentiments, but what the hell do they have to do with this thread?
New York would never outlaw smoking even as they make it increasingly difficult to smoke at all. The city and state collect huge tax revenues from the sale of cigarettes.
I'd have far more respect for them if they'd just be consistent about it and legalize crack, too.
It has to do with all the people that throw all Judgement Calls about the people at the CMA wards...
So this is your beef with New York?
Yes, one of them.
Plenty of roping and riding AND feeling and loving in this film:
I don't smoke..I liked New York when I went to visit, great food and the sites were awesome, Statue of Liberty and Empire State building, plus FANTASTIC STORES to shop!
This is encapsulates everything that has gone wrong with our country and world since the 1960's. Live for today, do what you want, there are no consequences to your actions.
I think that song had to do with everything that was happening in that era namely the Vietnam War which truly divided the country... When you loose 50K young men that should be with us today for a war that was a mistake many folks were hoping for lasting PEACE... Some wrote songs about it...
