For whatever the reason, celebrities lead interesting lives that most of us can't even fathom (or would want to.) But how many of us have had the opportunity to meet someone famous, witness someone famous doing something outrageous or knows someone who has and would like to share that experience......here.
My only experience was when I was 19 and in Aspen for the weekend. I was waiting for my family in the lobby of the Hotel Jerome and Arnold Swartzenegger came in. He gave me the up/down look and smiled (MUCH has changed since then!) Then Maria walked in and the flirting was over. Sigh...
I've met a lot of movie folks in the course of my work but the first celeb I ever encountered was Red Skelton. My dad and I were in the same elevator with him in a Las Vegas hotel in the late 50's, when he was a headliner there. I remember he was genial, extremely tall, and that hair was fire engine red.
Eddie Albert while I was in Kansas City on a high school trip and John James from Dynasty(I think). He lives nearby.
I worked for a company that once a year
would hire a celebrity to bring in clients
thus all the sports stars ;)
all of them were wonderful by the way
I met this guy Clemenza a few times, talk about star power : ))
OK,
I met Don Franks, Matthew Ferguson, Gene Glazer and Alberta Watson several times during fan conventions. (yeah, La Femme Nikita)
And I still get to hear from Alberta because she's the friend of a friend (big whoop, I know).
Didn't get to meet Roy Dupuis though (~~sigh~~)
Lets see, I danced once at a swanky affair and Celeste Holmes was there. Very sweet lady.
And when I was a teenager and working as a desk clerk, checked Foghat into their rooms. Oh and Lynrd Skynrd too...or was it the Alman Brothers?
The End
What kinda movie? (don't answer)
Can't compete with #7.
I met Agent 99 Barbra Feldon on a plane to LA about 27 years ago.
Waited on John Phillips of Mamas/Papas way back when, before he died. (haha)
Met Aida Torturro from Soprano's this summer.
Waited on that Zimmerman guy late of the Yankees. He showed us all his world series ring. Very impressive.
My sister used to work at Gurney's in Montauk, Long Island. Lives there too. She meets a lot of celebs. Has nothing but bad things to say about them.
Probably more I can't think of right now.
That would be her husband, Brad Hall.
I drove Lionel Richie's Mercedes once.
Very nice guy.
I met Richmond Branscombe from the TV show Renegade.
Anyone know who I'm talking about........anyone....?
(sigh)
Okay, I'll go back to work now.
I have walked about 30 feet behind Mohammad Ali at O'Hare airport and saw Oprah's boyfriend from a distance. Do those count?
A cutie! My real estate agent in Norman, OK, graduated high school with James Garner. Third-hand celebrity contact? :-).
That's it...not much.
Correction:
She does say some nice things once in a while.
William Shatner
Tom Green
Ed Asner
Meredith Baxter-Birney
Bruce Dern
Ann Margaret
Beverly Garland
I live in SoCal and have worked for studios, so I've met a lot of celebs. But when I was still a teenager and living in Chicago, I had one of my favorite encounters. I rode on an elevator with the comedian Buddy Hackett. The elevator was very crowded and we were all squished. I held my purse in front of me and tried to make myself as small as possible. Hackett turned around and said to me, "Are you holding my @ss, my dear?" Later on a friend told me that I should have said, "If I were holding your @ss, you'd know it!" But you never think of things like that until too late!!
Don't know about celebrities, but a buddy of mine was a seal platoon leader in the late eighties. Noriega got stupid, we invaded, and my buddy's platoon destroyed Noriega's personal plane so pineapple head couldn't escape. However, in the process, my buddy got killed along with his entire seal platoon. Now IMHO, he was much more than a celebrity, he's an american hero. much more than a lot of these slack a$$e$ I've seen listed here. sorry to be a party pooper.
LOL.
Are you a guy?
