Redskins at Bucs: Game of the Year so far?
Fox TV | 11/13/05 | me

Posted on 11/13/2005 4:24:01 PM PST by Diddle E. Squat

Bucs win 36-35 at home? TD's trade all 2nd half, bouncing back and forth between a tie and a Redskins lead. Redskins block the tying kick with 58 seconds left, but are called offsides. Bucs then go for two, is ruled a touchdown (though it appears pretty clear from replays that he was down and then moved the ball across, but not clear enough to overturn the initial call of touchdown.) Still 58 seconds left.

What a great game!

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Remember that Troyboi suffered a lot of concussions in his career.

The difference in this game: age Brunell vs. Simms.

It was a poor call and it should have been overturned during the review. Them's the breaks.

Rule #1 in sports, don't let the Refs decide the outcome. Beat your opponent to pulp, run up the score, whatever it takes, because if you don't it might as well be a toss of the coin.

We're having a tough year between youth and injuries Farve has to try too hard...sometimes it works (today and against N.O.), otherwise we're doomed..thankfully it's only sports and essentially meaningless (unless you're in one of those communities where your tax dollars support the stadium)in the greater scheme of things.

It was obvious the Bucs did not win. The refs need to be fired. This was a giant embarrassment for the NFL. The non-catch that was handed to them in the last drive. The two pass interference turnovers. Some refs need to be fired.

Exactly my thought while watching it. But the crucial call looked wrong to me: TB didn't get in the end-zone.

This is obvious to the world. The Bucs should be ashamed - very ashamed. I have never seen anything like this before. A giant embarrassment for the NFL.

The loser wins when you have home-town refs.

Favre looks like Warren Moon in his final year. Way too uneven and inaccurate compared to prior years, looks like he's losing the touch. Retirement next?

Guess you were smoking the same Tampa Bay crack the review ref was smoking. He was down behind the goal line - game over. His second effort after the play was dead only pushed his helmet over the line. The world saw it - the ball never was close the goal line. IT NEVER CROSSED THE LINE. The world saw it. A sad day for the NFL.

What a baby! The Skins didn't play hard enough, since they didn't win.

If the refs can make a call to decide a game, then blame the your team if they lose.

The 2 point conversion was clearly no good.On the TV replay you could see Allstots elbow down and the ball not near the goal-line, it wasn't even close, one of the worst instant replay calls I have ever seen.

Could be, then again, maybe not...he's still having too much fun in spite of his decimated supporting cast. Still, it's only a game and a big distraction..at least the Supreme Court is experiencing a fortuitous realignment.

Call me a baby - the rules say the ball must cross the line. It didn't. Tampa Bay lost if not for the home-town Crack refs.

Not to mention the non-catch the home-town refs gave them in the last drive (ball clearly touched the ground). Or the two pass interference turnovers.

WHY HAVE RULES?

WHY HAVE REPLAY?

This is a giant embarrassment for the NFL.

Do away with replay - it is of no value anymore.

Maybe we should just have the two teams do a knife fight to see who wins?

Yes - the world saw this. Sad day for the NFL. The Bucs have nothing to proud of...guess you can't blame them. Some refs need to be fined or fired. Why have refs - let's just let the home-town fans decide the calls - why spend money on expensive cameras - clearly they were not being used.
